Students Activities & Clubs

NSS Club -

NSS is a Two Fold program consisting of regular activities and special camping program. A variety of programs are undertaken by the NSS unit as suggested by the Government from time to time. NSS unit may select the program as per the need of the area, means, resources and skills.

The NSS unit was started in our Polytechnic College in the Academic year 1984-85. Our NSS units have undertaken several programs like planting of trees, Digging canals, Family welfare, Nutrition Program, Adults Education and Mass Literacy programs successfully. Some of the mass programs such as "Blood Donation", "Eye Camps" and "Health Camps" have also been successfully organized by our NSS units joining hands with Social organizations like Rotary Club, Lions Club etc.

NSS special camps are organized every year in rural areas and small villages, for the benefit of the villagers. The NSS volunteers are also trained in personality development, character building and leadership qualities through orientation programs.

NSS activities:

  • On 20th June 2015, 100 Volunteers participated in the Pre – Training Programme for International Day of Yoga. Organized by International Swami Vivekananda Organization.

  • On 21st June 2015, 100 Volunteers participated in the International Day of Yoga Celebration.
  • On 27the June 2015, 100 Volunteers participated in the TB Awareness Programme Organized by District TB Centre, Government Hospital, Villupuram.
  • On 15 july 2015 Mr.S.B.K and Mr.R.Saravanakannan attended the NSS programme officer review meeting
  • On 4th August 2015, 200 Volunteers participated in the motivation programme by Padmashree Dr.S.Rajaram, General Secretary, Sivananda Saraswathi Sevashram, Kattankulathur.
  • On 11th August 2015, Volunteers participated in the District Art youth Exhibition Melaa.  Organized by District AIDS prevention & Control Unit, Villupuram.
  • On 12th August 2015, 150 Volunteers participated in the Human chain programme held in the collectorate ground and took pledge on youth for International youth day celebration.
  • On 15th August 2015, 200 Volunteers participated in the 70th Independence Day celebration.
  • On 19th August 2015, 50 Volunteers participated in the Tree plantation programme organized by Lions Club, Villupuram.
  • On 28th August 2015, a blood donation camp was conducted, 83 Volunteers donated the blood to the Govt. Hospital, Villupuram.
  • On 1st October 2015, 100 Volunteers participated in the awareness programme on Voter rally.
  • On 13th October 2015, Volunteers Participated in the Essay and Elocution Competition in view of youth Awakening day celebration.
  • On 13th October 2015, 100 Volunteers Participated in the International Disaster Prevention day Rally.
  • On 15th October 2015, Volunteers Participated in the Rally celebration of Birthday of Bharat Ratna Dr.A.P.J. Abdulkalam as youth awakening day.
  • On 23rd December 2015, 100 Volunteers Participated in the awareness programme on ill effects of the fireworks.
  • On 08, 09 & 10th January 2016, 25 Volunteers participated in the Leprosy deduction camp.
  • On 09th January 2016, 50 Volunteers Participated in the Road Safety Programme.
  • On 26th January 2016, 100 Volunteers Participated in the Republic Day Celebration.
  • On 26th march 2016, 150 volunteers participated in the NSS annual day program, chief guest Dr.V.Dharmalingam, deputy director of medical services(leprosy) villupuram, distributed the regular activities certificates to final year NSS volunteers and also distributed participation certificates for National leprosy eradication programme from 09-01-2016 to 10-01-2016 to second year NSS volunteers
  • On 2nd April  2016 young voters festival was organized for 100% voting, our  District Revenue Officer distributed the first and second prizes for selected art and short film competitions
  • On 18thApril 2016 200 NSS volunteers participated in the  Rally awareness programme on 100% voting organized by “Samuga Neethi Pathukappu Iyakkam”, Villupuram

NCC Club -

An N.C.C. Unit of Senior Division Army wing is functioning in the Institution. It functions with a view to develop leadership qualities, commandership, spirit of sportsmanship and the ideal of service among the students.
