R.K.S.D. College Campus Facilities - Hostel Fees, Infrastructure, Address

R.K.S.D. (P.G.) College, as has been indicated before, is situated at a prime location of the town on Hisar-Ambala National Highway. It is spread over an area of 10 acres. It has vast building along-with spacious lawns, playgrounds, stadium and residential complex. Every year more and more infrastructural facilities are added keeping in view the growing needs of the institution. These facilities are put to optimum use for the purpose of teaching and career building of the students. The Governing Body of the college is very particular about the growth and the maintenance of the infrastructure of the college.

The College is situated on the Hisar-Ambala National Highway in many acres of land. The atmosphere of the College is natural, peaceful and healthy. In 1954, the College was started on the other side of Kaithal Railway station in a Dharmshala with only five rooms and two sheds of tin. Thereafter in 1957, the foundation stone of the present building of the College was laid. At present the building of the College is considered among the best college buildings of Haryana for its imposing façade, grandeur and serenity. The college has a vast campus having two-storeyed E-shaped building, lush green lawns, fully air-conditioned and well furnished Seminar Room, Common Room, Play-Ground, Stadium etc.

The College has two N.C.C. Companies. The ‘C’ certificate holders in N.C.C. get reservation in Military Services for the post of officers. They are also entitled to get 5% weightage for admission to the institutions of higher education. C.M. scholarship is also awarded to the outstanding cadets. In the past, our NCC cadet, Mr. Ramesh Mehta, was honoured by the then Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi with the ‘Cane of Honour’. Our cadets have been selected to participate in the Republic Day Parade in National Capital from time to time. This year also, our student of B.A.III Mr. Vikas, got the honour of participating in the Republic Day Parade.

The College has three units of N.S.S. Comprising 100 students each. The aim of the scheme is to develop all-round personality of the students and to make them socially useful and patriotic citizens and to develop in them the sense of dignity of labour. N.S.S. provides a forum to the young students for social service during their spare time. The tudents having N.S.S. merit certificate are entitled to the 5% weightage for admission to the institutions of higher education. A number of activities are conducted during the academic session by these units such as Blood Donation Camp, Social Service Camp in the rural area, Van Mohatsav, Quiz Contests. etc

Under the National Education Policy, the College has set up a Women Cell. The Cell has following aims and objectives.

•  To create awareness among girl students about their rights and to  educate and motivate them to raise their voice against gender-bias.
•  To provide counselling about vocational and career opportunities to the girl students and to help them in solving their problems.
• To organize activities of various kinds in order to develop their personality..
