Shri Jai Narain Misra Post Graduate College (KKC), Lucknow: A Balanced Look
By Arpit Gupta

Overall: Established in 2009, Shri Jai Narain Misra Post Graduate College (KKC) in Lucknow has carved a niche for itself as a co-educational institution offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Affiliated with Lucknow University, KKC caters to students seeking a well-rounded academic experience at an affordable cost. This review delves into various aspects of the college to help prospective students make an informed decision.

Placement: Let's be honest, placements are a major focus at KKC. There's a placement cell, but the number of companies visiting campus seems limited. Most opportunities seem to be for mass-recruitment roles or local businesses. If landing a high-paying job straight out of college is your top priority, KKC might not be the best fit. However, here's the good news: Developing your skills: The college does offer workshops and seminars on resume building, interview skills, and career development. These can be helpful in preparing you for the job market, even if the on-campus placements aren't extensive. Off-campus opportunities: Many students leverage online job portals or connections with alumni to find opportunities outside the college placement cell.

Infrastructure: Classrooms: The classrooms are decent-sized and well-lit. They're not fancy, but they have the basics: blackboards (or maybe even whiteboards in some departments!), projectors, and enough seating. The ventilation could be better in some rooms, especially during the Lucknow summer. Library: The library boasts a good collection of books, both academic and general reading. It's a quiet space to study, but it can get crowded during exam times. Labs (if applicable to your course): The quality of the labs varies depending on the department. Some science departments have well-equipped labs with modern instruments, while others might have older equipment. It's best to check with your seniors or the department head about the specific facilities available for your program. Common areas: There's a decent canteen on campus that serves basic snacks and meals. There's a small common area for students to hang out between classes, but it's not very spacious.

Faculty: The faculty at KKC is a mixed bag. Here's what I've observed: Strengths: Many professors are genuinely passionate about their subjects and are always willing to help students who put in the effort. They're approachable during office hours and are happy to answer questions and clarify doubts. Areas for improvement: Some faculty members might have a more traditional teaching style that relies heavily on lectures. Interactive learning methods could be incorporated more frequently. Additionally, a few professors might not be as readily available for consultations outside of class time.

Hostel: Shri Jai Narain PG College (KKC) doesn't have on-campus hostels. This means you'll need to find your own place to live, like a paying guest (PG) or a shared flat. It's extra work, but you get more freedom in choosing your place and roommates. Just be prepared to search around and deal with some off-campus living hassles.

Overall: Overall it was good if a student remains consistent and involved in studies he/she can gain good knowledge of their subjects. The guidance of professors here is amazing.

Placement: The placement rate on campus is not good . Students mostly have to look for off campus placements . The placement rate here is not good and the college admiration should really work on that .

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not so good . The building is very old and needs renovation. I think the college should work on its infrastructure. Its quite uncomfortable.

Faculty: The faculty is outstanding. Leaving all things aside ( infrastructure and facilities) The guidance is phenomenal and teachers are knowledgeable enough. Its just that you have to get yourself involved obviously they won't come to you . If students are well involved in studies they can get really good guidance and knowledge.

Hostel: There is no hostel facility from college's side . If the students come from outside lucknow they have to arrange for pg or rooms . Hostel is not included in the campus
