Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education Reviews

S
The college has an amazing teaching faculty

Overall: The teachers for B.Sc in Maths at this college were exceptional and they made me into the man I am today. It is easy to get admission to B.Sc as admission is offered based on merit. There were some things which the college could improve, like the number of faculty and the number of labs. Otherwise, it is a great choice for B.Sc course.

Placement: As a student who attended the campus placements at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education, I can say for certain that I received support from the college for job placements. They helped me get an internship, build my resume, provide soft skill training, and more.

Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure our college has modern buildings which house all the classrooms and labs. Each department in our college has a separate lab with all the required facilities. Our college also has a canteen, library, an auditorium, etc.

Faculty: The faculty of B.Sc was small and we only had seven lectures. For the Maths subject we had Mohm Arshad Khan sir. The teachers of the B.Sc course were very proficient in teaching. They were able to clear our doubts and cover the syllabus in time.

Hostel: My house is near the college so I used to take my bike to college. My friends from other cities who lived in the hostel told me that the hostel rooms were not clean at all. The building was new but the interior had no paint and looked very unhygienic. The food was good but again the kitchen was not hygienic at all. The hostel had a common room for indoor games.

Low fees, great teachers, and an amazing college life
By Surendra Aapte

Overall: I am Surendra, a B.Sc Biology student from Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education. After spending three years in this college I can say with pride that our college is the best in Lucknow. We had great teachers and the course fee was also low. For B.Sc the fees was around Rs 20,000 per year.

Placement: Only a few companies visit the campus during campus placement. The placement cell of our college prepared us by providing pre-placement training. It included soft skill training, mock interviews, resume building, etc. We also received job opportunities on WhatsApp and email.

Infrastructure: As a B.Sc Biology student our classes sometimes were taken in the lab. Our department has only one lab with 50 student capacity. Our campus also has a canteen which was used as a hangout place for students. There were also sports facilities, medical facilities, hostels, and more at our college.

Faculty: The reason why I scored 80% or more in every semester exam was all because of amazing teachers like Ram Kumar sir. There were a total of seven teachers in B.Sc but Ram sir was exceptionally great. He was polite and taught us in a fun way which made studies easier.

Hostel: I did not stay at the college hostel myself as I used to commute every day but my friends told me that the hostel was available for men and women. There was also a mess facility at the hostel which offered great veg food options. The hostel also has a security guard and CCTV cameras for safety.

Decent College with Good Scholarship Schemes
By Manisha

Overall: Before sharing my experience, I would share that I was extremely lucky. I was a B.Com student and received a 100% scholarship in the first year as well as a scholarship for maintaining over 75% attendance. SCBIHE Lucknow offers upto 100% scholarship to B.Sc and B.Com students. Even though the college has been accredited by NAAC with a B grade, I am satisfied with the quality of teaching. Above all, the non-teaching staff are very humble and polite.

Placement: I was not so concerned about placements as I had some other plans. However, many of my friends were not happy with the college administration as they guaranteed them placements but in the end no placement was made. There has been no record of placements for the past few years.

Infrastructure: I was a part of the college’s Scouts and Guides and have taken part in programs like adoption of villages and slums for cleanliness and literacy drives, environmental conservation, AIDS awareness programme, pulse polio drive etc. The facilities are not grand but adequate like library , canteen, wifi, etc . The college offers transportation services but my experience in these aspect was not good.

Faculty: Faculty in our college is good and experienced. They are experts in their subjects. Our management subject teacher was very good. Overall, some of the professors are strict but they are always ready to help. Our Principal, Dr. Abha Khare was open to our suggestions and took care of some of our grievances personally.

Hostel: Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education has no hostels yet. Students from outside Lucknow stay in nearby PG or hostels. As our college is a government competitive examination center there are good PG options available. However, students from our class have expressed the need for on-campus accommodation to the college administration.

Decent College with Good Faculty

Overall: I am a B.Sc graduate from the 2022 batch. My experience in college has been bittersweet. Starting with admission, I had to face a few challenges. The fee refund policy of the college is rigid allowing only three days to remit the payment. However, the admission process was smooth. The location of the college is not feasible. It has an iON Digital Zone which is an exam centre for various online government exams, and many of my friends who visited the college for the exams also shared the same regarding the location.

Placement: The placements at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education is not at all satisfactory. There was no placement in our batch. No proper intimation was given regarding placements in our final years as well. We were always told that placement will take place in the next year but no placements have been made so far.

Infrastructure: The college is famous as a competitive examination centre apart from being a college affiliated to Lucknow University. The facilities here are decent with good internet connectivity, canteen, library and many more. The chemistry department has one lab for each course,. The labs are spacious enough for 50 students. The college canteen ' Shri Balajee Food Centre' was our favourite hangout spot. it has everything from snacks, sweets to full-course meals at nominal rates.

Faculty: One reason, I will always be proud of studying in this college is the faculty. Apart from our department faculty members, I received the needed help and guidance from other faculty members as well. Dr. Yadvendra Pratap Singh, Sanjay Singh, Anupam Tiwari, Shiv Shankar Mishra, Urmila Verma and Dr Neeraj Kumar Verma are few of the professors whom I will cherish forever.

Hostel: Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education does not have an on-campus hostel facility. It is one major disadvantage as the location of the college is not favourable for travelling on a daily basis. I travelled 15 km every day. Even though I had my personal vehicle and parking was available at the college, it caused a lot of inconvenience both physically and financially.

Excellent academics at reasonable costs, and good faculty

Overall: I am a Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education B.Com graduate. I chose this institute for the B.Com course since I wanted to learn both the theoretical and practical aspects of the programme. I got to know from the previous students that the college provided practical training which eventually helped during job interviews. The college provided skill-based training, polishing our knowledge of the topics. Also, we were aptly trained for higher education in fields such as accounting, finance and entrepreneurship.

Placement: Compared to the local B.Com colleges, the placements in Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education was average. Although we were well prepared for job interviews, the on-campus placements were mediocre. We had to opt for off campus placements through which I was able to secure a package of Rs 2 LPA from CTS.

Infrastructure: Even though the campus area is small, it housed all the necessary amenities. It had a library, a gymnasium, cafeteria, well ventilated classrooms, etc. The campus was also wifi enabled. The food was affordable, poha being the best of all the dishes as it was healthy and filling.

Faculty: Most of the college's faculty members were knowledgeable and helpful. The cases were interactive and there were frequent doubt clearing sessions held for us to better grasp the subject.

Hostel: The hostel and mess were clean and hygiene was maintained. The security on the premises was strict. There was a warden present all day and CCTV cameras were placed. The hostel building had standard amenities, good rooms, an eating space, a common room and a water purifier.

Good Institute for BSc Course
By Prince

Overall: Being a BSc pass out student of Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education, I can say that it is an overall decent college for BSc Biology. The institute offers admission based on class 12 scores and the admission process is very simple. I visited the official website and filled out the online application form and submitted the application fees. Once done, I had to visit the campus for document verification and admission was done.

Placement: Placement at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education is average. No big firms visited the campus while we were on campus. However, the placement cell is very supportive. They conduct alumni talk sessions, guest faculty sessions, and entrepreneurship skill seminars on campus for students.

Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure of the institute is okay. It offers all the necessary facilities like classrooms, seminar halls, practical classes, a library, washrooms, a water cooler, playground. The library and computer labs are very well designed to offer everything that student needs.

Faculty: Majority of the faculty at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education are nice and helpful. Sharma sir is very educated and has completed his PhD in Biology. He is my favourite teacher as he helps students even after class is over.

Hostel: Hostels at SCBIHE are overall good. There are all the facilities available like 24*7 water and electricity supply, clean washrooms, water cooler. The hostel rooms are cleaned regularly and students have to get their own mattresses. The mess offers breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner for students. The mess food is delicious but lacks variety.

Great teachers but infrastructure was not so good at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Educat

Overall: In my opinion, the college is very good for students who wish to pursue B.Com. The teachers provided us with knowledge beyond the syllabus. The placements at this college is also great as many big companies visit the campus. The only demerit I encountered was the old infrastructure of our college.

Placement: After completing B.Com I joined my family business so I don't know much about the placement process. But from what I heard from friends, the college was very helpful for them. The placement cell conducts campus placements. Those who do not get a job from campus can opt for help in getting alerts for off-campus placements.

Infrastructure: The college does have all the important buildings like classrooms, labs, medical facilities, canteen, hostel, etc. But the buildings were old and needed some serious remodelling.

Faculty: The teachers for BCom at this college were very strict and they were never late for classes. They would also provide notes for struggling students before the exam. You can always approach any teacher during working hours. My favourite teacher was Urmila Verma mam.

Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education Detailed Review
By Ritesh

Overall: I studied for three years at this college. I completed B.Com with 86% marks. The college gave me some of the best years of my life. The teachers for the B.Com course were very good at their job. There were six teachers for the B.Com course.

Placement: The placement cell of this college helps B.Com students to improve their soft skills. You can also request the college to get help in getting internship opportunities. Then they invite companies for placements. I went to higher studies so I did not participate in the placements.

Infrastructure: Our college campus was big and surrounded by a garden. The classrooms, office, labs, library, and other infrastructures were located inside the campus. The college canteen was a very special spot for us. Our friends group used to hang out there as the food prices was very low.

Faculty: The faculty for B.Com at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education has six members. They all used to teach us according to the timetable. My favourite was Sanjay Singh sir who was friendly yet strict when it came to studies.

Hostel: The hostel of this college has sharing rooms with triple sharing. Each floor of the hostel building has a separate water cooler. Rooms have beds, book racks, tables, an attached bathroom, and an almirah. Our hostel had a warden who was like a big brother to us.

Excellent academic standing, and a good faculty

Overall: The affordability of education was a major factor in my decision of choosing Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education. I opted for B.Com, since I studied commerce in high school and was familiar with the course structure. The fees for the three year long programme was Rs 60,000. Based solely on my 12th grades, I was admitted. I just had to complete an application form and make the fee payment, which included a document verification process as well. There were no significant problems during my course of study. From the faculty to the staff to the seniors, all were cordial.

Placement: The only thing disappointing was the placements. The students from our department received very few full time placement opportunities. Internships were provided at TCS Ninja, Avo, etc. The science stream students were hired mostly through the on campus placements. However, proper training was provided so we could sit for off campus placements.

Infrastructure: Although the infrastructure was not the best like other private colleges, it had all the necessary amenities for both academics and recreation. The security was tight inside the campus, there were guards and CCTV cameras for monitoring purposes. There were options for both indoor and out door games. The labs and library was well equipped.

Faculty: The quality of training provided by the Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education faculty members was excellent. They taught us about business laws, management, accounts, finance, and much more. Most of the teachers had PhDs and great knowledge about the field.

Hostel: The hostel fees were very nominal. It was Rs 4,500 per month. The dorm rooms were clean and proper hygiene was maintained. The hostel provided free wifi 24x7. Hot water was provided as well. The food was healthy and homelike.

Overall: I had an amazing experience at Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education. Based on my grades in class 12, I was admitted to the B.Sc Biology course. The campus was lively and the classrooms were well equipped. The library was fully stocked and had variety of books on biology. The institute even arranged training courses to prepare us for the future and helped us acquire a complete knowledge about the subject.

Placement: Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education placement cell was highly active. Campus placements were arranged by the cell and we got to sit for the placements in our final year. Not many reputed companies visited, but overall the job roles they offered were quite good.

Infrastructure: The institute placed equal emphasis on academic and holistic development. There were sports facilities on campus which included a playground which was used for football, volleyball, badminton and cricket. The laboratories were well equipped and cleanliness was maintained overall.

Faculty: There were many highly qualified members in our department. The teachers were extremely cooperative. They taught us through proper demonstration, diagrams and model structures. We used to interact and ask questions for any queries which were resolved in class as well.

Hostel: The hostel rooms were okay. They were well ventilated an the size of the rooms were fine. There was a very strict warden at our time. Laundry services were offered with a few extra charges. The premises were clean and proper hygiene was maintained.

Affordable Course Fees with Good Infrastructure

Overall: Being a BSc pass out student from Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education, I can say that it is among the decent colleges in Lucknow for BSc courses. Although there are other colleges as well but very few of them offer pre-placement assistance to students. Academically, the institute is good as the majority of faculty are PhD holders with good knowledge. The infrastructure at the college is good but does not offer many modern amenities. Classrooms, however, are properly ventilated and classes are always conducted on time.

Placement: Placements are good at SCBIHE. The placement cell is very supportive and final year students get a chance to register for placements. However, second-year students are also offered internships by the assistance of the placement cell. The placement cell conducted mock interviews and pre-placement sessions for us because of this I got an internship opportunity.

Infrastructure: Infrastructue at SCBIHE is good. The institute offers good facilities to students like a playground, canteen, classrooms, and small and big auditorium. There are solar panels installed on the terrace of each building to promote sustainability.

Faculty: Majority of faculties at SCBIHE hold PhD degrees. Special emphasis is given to topics like graph theory and linear programming. I always had doubts in the differential equations concept but Ankit sir took extra classes for us to teach tough chapters again.

Hostel: Hostel facility at the institute is decent. The hostels are equipped with basic necessities like RO, CCTV, clean washrooms, and ventilated rooms on each floor. Students have to share the rooms with other roommates but a separate study table, bed and almirah are provided to students. The guards are available 24*7 at the main gate. Further, we have to get permission from HOD in case we want any guardian to meet us.

Overall: I had a wonderful experience at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education. I opted for B.Com after class 12 as I wanted to gain more knowledge on accountancy as a subject. The best thing is the college's affordability. The annual fees for the B.Com course was only Rs 20,000. With an updated curriculum and quality training, I was able to learn about numerous topics including accounts, finance, economics, business laws, and much more.

Placement: Although, the college offers excellent instruction, Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education placements were a little below par. Many students got internships, but for full time job roles we had to apply for off campus job interviews. Very few companies visited, and those appeared offered placements to science streams.

Infrastructure: The campus had all the contemporary facilities for us even in its small campus. There were 56 classrooms for girls, 78 classrooms for boys and 23 other classrooms for different purposes. The classrooms were well-ventilated. The campus was fully wifi enabled. There was also a gymnasium for us to use.

Faculty: The faculty team consisted of many assistant and associate professors. The majority of them were extremely competent in their fields and held PhDs. The instruction provided was high calibre. The classes were interactive as well.

Hostel: Hostel at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education was okay. The dorm rooms were spacious and clean. The bathrooms were cleaned frequently. There was no shortage of water and power generators were present. The meals were healthy but could be better in taste and options. The hostel fee per month was around Rs 4,500.

Overall: As a DEl.Ed student who graduated in 2022 I can say with pride that Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education is the best for this course. The teachers are highly qualified and provide full support to struggling students. Other than that the college also has a great infrastructure for accommodating all the students. The college also has a canteen that offers snacks, meals, and refreshments.

Placement: After completing my Diploma course in Education I went for government job preparation so I did not opt for campus placements. My friends who attended told me that the average package received by them was around Rs 2.80 LPA. Many companies visited the campus for placements.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college includes a canteen, modern classrooms, labs, medical facilities, a library, etc. All the departments in our college have first aid kits and for serious conditions, students are transferred to medical centres which is near the campus.

Faculty: For DEl.Ed course which I was studying, there were three teachers - Anupam sir, Sarita Saroj mam, and Shalini mam. They were all very good at their job. Child psychology is a topic with which I was struggling and Saroj mam spent an hour teaching me after college time.

Hostel: Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education has a hostel for its students. It was on a sharing basis and had an attached bathroom. We had access to a common room in the hostel. The warden mam was very nice and supportive. If I remember correctly, the hostel room rent was between Rs 3,000 to Rs 4000 per month.

Good Institute with All Modern Amenities

Overall: I have completed my BSc Biology from Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education. The reason I chose this institute was academics. My cousin also graduated from here and he recommended me to get admission here. I got admission to BSc course based on class 12 marks and merely an application form filled with fees was enough for admission. However, the document verification process is held in person at the admission department of the college. Throughout my study here, I did not find any major issues at the college. The playgrounds are nice and big, academics were good, and a decent internship was offered to our seniors and to us as well. In short, I am satisfied with the outcome of this college.

Placement: Placements at SCBIHE are okay. However, not any big organisation visits the campus during the placement drive for BSc biology. I am unable to recall any big names but in my time Tac pharma visited the campus and hired a few students. However, we have been provided with an opportunity for an internship for a three-month duration which was very helpful in getting industry insights.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure at SCBIHE is overall okay but it has all the necessary and modern amenities available. The library has research papers in plant pathology, human memory, cloning and other important concepts. The librarian is also very knowledgeable. The playground is very big and we have options to play indoor and outdoor games. The CCTV cameras are installed in classes, corridors and auditoriums for safety purposes.

Faculty: The faculty at Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Education is the backbone of the institute. They have some really educated teachers like Sarvesh sir and Ravi sir who are friendly with their students. Ravi sir often conducts visits to the science park, science quizzes and PowerPoint presentations on bio topics for easy understanding.

Hostel: Hostels at the institute are overall good with all the basic amenities like a bed, cupboard, a study table and more. However, the mattress is not provided to students and they have to get it on their own. Further, washrooms are clean and functional and CCTV is operational at each corridor. For safety purposes, the warden is attentive for the whole time.

Overall: Everyone here is friendly in nature and welcoming!! We've a lot of fun events and activities in campus. The staff members are really very helpful and feels like a family.

Placement: I heard that many students from our college got good placement offers last year. Many students have secured lucrative job offers in good companies with a good salary package. The institute leaves no stone unturned to provide the best placement to its students.

Infrastructure: I find the classes here very interesting and interactional. Sometimes i feel the facilities could be better and they can add more computer labs. Eacg classroom can accomodate 70-80 students approx.
