Good Institute for BSc (Hons) Mathematics

3.5

Overall: At IIU Una, I'm pursuing B.Sc Maths with a merit-based scholarship thanks to my 89% score in Class 12. I received a 50% concession, however, those who scored above 90% received a 90% concession on tuition fees. I paid only 6,000 per semester instead of Rs 12,000. Overall, my first year has been positive.

Placement: Personally, I feel the average placement package (Rs 2.4 LPA) and the highest package of 2023 (Rs 5.7 LPA) is low, especially compared to the fees. Also, the visiting companies like Tracer, Sukhjit Starch and Chemicals Limited,, Bajaj Capital, Grammy, and Fine Switches are primarily mid-sized or smaller firms.

Infrastructure: As a sports enthusiast, I am excited about the outdoor playground and indoor sports complex. Moreover, the institute is planning to build badminton and basketball courts as well. I enjoy playing table tennis in the indoor sports area during the recess hours. Overall, the campus is under development, the current facilities are good: 8 engineering labs, soon to be joined by a massive library, additional science labs, and 45 new classrooms.

Faculty: The faculty, especially Mrs. Tanu, who has completed her post graduation in Mathematics along with B.ed, have been supportive and provided a lot of guidance in my learning journey with their excellent teaching skills.

Hostel: As a hosteller from Howrah in Kolkata, I have moved out of my hometown for the first time and am enjoying the basic facilities like bed, table, chair, wardrobe so far. I appreciate the well-maintained environment and its cleanliness. Also, the mess food is tasty.

Indus International University Una is a UGC approved university

Overall: IIU Una is a UGC-approved university and it offers a BBA course which I opted for in 2020 and completed it in 2023. The fees for BBA is Rs 55,000 per year. You can also get merit scholarships up to 90% of the course fee based on Class 12 score.

Placement: BBA course students were well-trained and performed well in the campus placements. Top companies like ITC Hotel, Taj Hotels, TCS, Wipro, etc visit our university campus for placements. I was placed in TCS with a package of Rs 3.45 LPA.

Infrastructure: The classroom building in our university had 45 classrooms with audio-video facilities. There is also a canteen inside the university campus. The canteen offers veg and non-veg food at a reasonable price. IIU Una also has labs for practicals.

Faculty: For the BBA course, the teaching faculty members were very good as they were able to complete the syllabus on time every semester. The teachers were never late to class and included videos in day-to-day teaching to make the process entertaining.

Hostel: Our hostel had a warden who was quite strict and the hostel gate was closed at 8 PM sharp. As for the other facilities at the hostel, there was RO water supply, a mess, a recreational room with TV, indoor and outdoor games, etc.

You can get scholarships at Indus International University Una
By Kiran Shukla

Overall: The university provides merit-based scholarships to BCA students and I am one of them. I scored 95% marks in class 12 so I was eligible for the 90% scholarship based on merit. After the scholarship, my per semester fees for BCA was just Rs 2000!

Placement: I was unsure if I would get a job or not as I had not done any internship. But thanks to the soft skill training provided by the IIU Una placement cell I did quite well in the interview. I got a package of Rs 2.90 LPA during the campus placement.

Infrastructure: IIU Una has an IT lab on campus which easily hosts all the students of a BCA class. There were modern computers with i5 and i7 chipset. Our university also has hostel accommodations, sports facilities, medical facilities, a canteen, etc.

Faculty: I think the BCA course at IIU has a shortage of teachers because our classes were often delayed. The teachers were overworked but they gave their 100% when teaching us. The teaching faculty used modern technology like audio-video devices to teach us.

Hostel: IIU Una has a separate building for men and women. The hostels have two guards and a warden. Our hostel has a common room with a TV. We also had a small playground near our hostel.

Good University with Modern and Updated Infrastructure

Overall: I am currently pursuing B.Tech CSE at IIU Una. I cleared JEE Main but my rank was very low. Fortunately, not only I got admission in the course but also received a merit-based scholarship as my percentage in Class 12th was 91.4%. The semester fee was Rs 45,000 whereas I paid only Rs 4,500 after receiving a 90% concession fee in the form of scholarship. The total annual fee for B.Tech CSE is Rs 90,000. Overall, my experience in this one year has been satisfactory.

Placement: I am a bit sceptical about the placement statistics. The average package is very low at Rs 2.4 LPA compared to the fees charged. The highest package received in 2023 was Rs 5.7 LPA. Moreover, the recruiters who visited the campus were medium-valued and low-valued companies like Bajaj Capital, Grammy, Fine Switches, Sukhjit Starch and Chemicals Ltd, Tracer, etc.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure-wise, the facilities provided are good. The campus is undergoing development and we will get access to a lot of facilities like an 18,000 sq. ft. library, more science laboratories, and 45 new classrooms. Currently, we have 8 laboratories for the engineering department. Being a sports enthusiast, I am looking forward to the completion of the outdoor playground and indoor sports complex with badminton and basketball courts. However, most of the sports infrastructure is already complete.

Faculty: It has been a year and I have received the needed support from all the faculty members, especially Mrs Suparti Koul and Mrs Ekta Thakur. A few months back Ms Mandeep Kaur joined our university in the post of assistant professor. Her teaching skills are good and learning has been easy under the guidance of all three professors.

Hostel: I am from Assam and I am a hosteller at IIU Una. There are students from different states like Bihar and UP staying in the hostel. The facilities provided in the hostel are basic with beds, tables, chairs, wardrobes, etc, however, the maintenance is good. Mess food is also prepared under hygienic conditions and tastes good.

Overall: I had one of my best times at IIM Una. I was a postgraduate student from the 2020 batch. Before I share my experience, I would like to share that Kartha Education Society, a part of the Knowledgucate Group of Institutions headquartered in UAE, set up IIU Una. I qualified GATE and was looking for a university in my hometown, eventually taking admission in IIU Una. I want to highlight that you must carry your documents like mark sheets, caste certificate and 4-passport size photographs at the time of admission. Also, please don't lose your registration number. Examinations at IIU Una are conducted twice, the Mid Semester Test (MST) and the Final Semester Test (FST). You can appear in the FST only if you have at least 75% attendance or more.

Placement: Unfortunately, I did not take part in the placement process, however, I am somewhat aware of the placement scenario. The placement statistics at IIU Una are not at all fancy. The highest package is around Rs 5.7 LPA and the average package is less than Rs 2.5 LPA. The university has not been successful in inviting top companies for recruitment yet.

Infrastructure: Truth to be told, I was sceptical at first as the campus was still at its developing stage, but, seeing its fast development over the years, I am glad to be a part of it. The university has completed its first phase of development. Once the campus starts functioning completely, it will have 45 additional state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, an 18,000 sq. ft. library, a fully air-conditioned 250-seater auditorium and many more.

Faculty: I will always be indebted to the faculty members at IIU Una. I received a lot of help from Dr. Rohit Kumar during my final year project. He is a highly educated and professional individual and made learning fun for students like us. Another great mentor was Dr Narendra Kumar. His practical lessons were very good.

Hostel: The university provides accommodation facilities to students but none of my friends opted for hostels. There is a boys hostel with a capacity of 100 students and a girls hostel with 25 seats. During my time at IIU Una, students preferred staying in nearby PGs rather than opting for the university's hostel. I think the issue will be resolved once the university campus becomes fully operational.

Overall: I am Nandkishori a B.Tech in Civil Engineering student at this college. I completed my studies in 2023 and got placed with a package of Rs 4 LPA. In my honest opinion, I think IIU Una is very good for civil engineering. This is because the teachers in my department were highly experienced and the college conducted various workshops to help us grow.

Placement: The placement cell of IIU organises special classes for improving the soft skills of students. Then they take the resume and send it to various companies to schedule interviews. After the interview process, I got selected and received an offer letter of Rs 4 LPA.

Infrastructure: The college has a very modern look and the buildings are well maintained in our college. IIU Una has a canteen, hostel, sports grounds, an auditorium, transportation facility, modern classrooms, and more.

Faculty: We had two faculty members for the BTech in Civil Engineering course. One was our HOD Mr Rakesh Kumar and the other one was Aejaz Ahmad Wani sir. Both of them completed M.Tech in Civil Engineering and had prior teaching experience.

Hostel: Our hostel at IIU Una was very basic. We had a bed, a table, an almirah, and an attached toilet in our room. The rooms were allotted in pairs of two or three students. We also had a warden and two security guards. The mess food was also decent.

Overall: I am quite happy with my B.Com degree at IIU Una. I received the greatest academic and practical instruction possible during my period of study. The IIU Una fees for B.Com was nominal. The course costs Rs 33,000 per year. The programme was three years long. With a 92% in class 12, I was able to get admission based on my merit scores only. Overall, the campus was good, well built and had all the facilities. The curriculum was updated and the class tests were easy.

Placement: Securing a placement opportunity majorly depended on how well your overall academic performance is, along with your consistency in class. I was able to secure a placement opportunity in a transport agency with a salary of Rs 2.5 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good. We had smart classrooms, a library, laboratories, sports fields, etc. There was also a 250 seater fully air conditioned auditorium. There were more than 45 classrooms. Wifi was present all over the campus and we could access the internet at all times.

Faculty: There were four faculty members in our department. Dr RK Gupta, Ms Niharika, Ms Navjot and Mrs Manjit were really helpful throughout our course curriculum. They all had years of experience in the field of business management.

Hostel: IIU Una dorm rooms were nice and clean. They were on a sharing basis. Admission was given on a first come first serve basis. The premises also had a small play area for badminton, volleyball, etc.

Good University for MCA with Decent Salary Package
By Diwakar

Overall: I studied MCA at IIU Una. The main reason for joining this college is that very few colleges in Una and nearby areas offer quality MCA education. One of my neighbour was a student here who suggested I should join this college for MCA. My overall experience here was very good. The campus is situated in the vast green land a serene and peaceful environment is there. Earlier I was scared about the fees seeing the infrastructure and campus. To my surprise, the total annual fees were similar to other MCA colleges in our area. I am happy with the college and my decision.

Placement: Placement cell of IIU is very knowledgeable. I remember getting personality development sessions from Ankit sir before our campus placement drive. The placement for MCA is okay but not excellent. I got two offers out of which I chose Fine Switches where I got Rs 2.8 LPA package.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure on campus is quite decent. We have modern labs with Epson LX-300, LaserJet 1020 and other modern tools for MCA students. The college canteen is decent and we have a lot of warm and homely food available. Other facilities like playground, classroom and library is also good.

Faculty: Faculty at IIU Una deserves appreciation for being so supportive and helpful. Supati Ma'am has supported me a lot when I needed guidance. She calls weaker students to the staff room and helps them to understand the concepts. I thank her for being so supportive.

Hostel: Hostels at IIU are nice. Though I am a nearby resident so I did not opt for hostels but a few of my friends told me that the hostels were nice and clean. The maintenance was very good. Interestingly the mess food was very hygienic and homely.

Overall: Overall IIU Una is a perfect university. It is located in Una, Himachal Pradesh. It is a private university so the fees was a bit high. B.Com fees was Rs 33,000 per year. But the infrastructure provided to us was top class so I can't complain much. Our university has a 250-seater AC auditorium, individual offices for all faculty, an 18,000 Sqft library, etc.

Placement: As a student who got placed during the campus placement, I can say confidence that if you score well then your chances of getting a job increase. I got placed in Bajaj Capital with a package of Rs 2.90 LPA. The package is small but I am expecting to earn more after I switch jobs.

Infrastructure: Our university has a 250-seater AC auditorium for conducting lectures and programmes. Our campus is surrounded by greenery and the campus has high-speed free Wifi. We also have a hostel, a library, 45 classrooms, and other facilities.

Faculty: Faculty member for the B.Com course at Indus International University Una was four. Dr RK Gupta has 40 years of teaching experience and Mrs Majnjit Kaur mam has 8 years of experience. These two were my favourite teachers.

Hostel: IIU has hostel for its studntes. Hostel rooms are allocated on a first come first serve basis. The rooms have twin and triple sharing. We were provided laundry service, RO water, a geyser, a common room, mess food, and a small playground for sports.

Overall: I graduated with a BHM degree from IIU Una and I am completely satisfied as I received the best training both practically and theoretically throughout my course curriculum. My course was four years long and the fees were Rs 80,000 per year. I was from a commerce background and in class 12 I obtained 84% marks. My admission was done based on the marks I obtained. The programme included training in housekeeping, food production and service, room service, office and guest management, and much more.

Placement: BHM placements were good. To prepare us for final placements we were given training through industry visits, seminars, workshops and talk sessions. A 20-week job training was arranged by IIU Una as well. We were prepared for job roles such as hotel operations manager, chef, sous chef, catering manager, tour guide, steward, chief sommelier, etc.

Infrastructure: IIU Una campus had a well maintained infrastructure. There was a library with more than 12,000 reference materials. Our department had four laboratories which included the front office lab, the housekeeping lab, the food & beverage production lab, and the food & beverage service lab. The laboratories were clean and tidy.

Faculty: Our faculty was really good. Mr Harshit Sharma closely looked over our work and upliftment. The teaching-learning process at IIU Una was interactive and because of the course's needs special focus was given to practical training.

Hostel: Hostel fees at IIU Una ranged started from Rs 23,000 to as high as Rs 35,000. The dorm rooms were well kept and the food was nice and healthy. We received the meals four times a day. Snacks were also provided.

Overall: I am 100% satisfied with the IIU as the course fees was affordable and the teachers were also excellent. The course fees for MBA was around Rs 1,10,000 per year. The teachers were highly qualified and some of them even completed their PhD. As for placement, the university attracts many top recruiters like Taj Hotels, Bajaj, TCS, Wipro, ITC, etc.

Placement: Every year the placement cell of the Indus International University Una conducts the campus placements for students. When it was my time, they helped me prepare my resume. Then it was sent to various companies. I was called for interviews in 5 companies and was selected by TCS after two rounds of interviews.

Infrastructure: The classrooms or the lecture rooms are massive and have great seating options. You can attend 2 hours long lectures without any issues. Our university also has a cafeteria. There was also an auditorium for meetings and annual functions.

Faculty: My course MBA falls under the faculty of business management. We had a total of 4 teachers for our course. The most experienced one was Dr RK Gupta who has 40 years of teaching experience.

Hostel: There is a hostel for students at the campus which I did not opt for as I was living in Una. I heard from my friends who were staying in the hostel that the building was new but the hostel rooms were not clean at all. The fee was around Rs 3000 per month.

Overall: As a student of Indua International University, I am Ramith and i was a student of BBA and I am delighted to share my insights about the campus and overall experience in this institute. I can confidently say that the institution provides a holistic good quality education and facilities to its students.

Placement: One of the standout features of Indus International University Una is its strong emphasis on placement. The university has a dedicated placement cell that works dedicatedly and tirelessly so that the students are prepared for the professional world.

Infrastructure: The campus of Indus International is truly impressive. The campus has enough space. During my time we used to sit in the green grass and chat for hours and used to sun bask in the field.

Faculty: My faculty members were very supportive regarding us and kind. always up for helping the students and helped me in my project work during our internal assesments. Our HOD was interactive with the students.

Hostel: Staying away from my hometown was a concern for me as i was worried about the hostel life. But this attitude changed when i started staying in the campus. You get access to the internet 24*7 and additional facilities like games, water heaters, coolers etc.

Overall good experience but BCA placements are average.
By Ranjit Roy

Overall: BCA at IIU Una is good, the course was three years long and its fees were Rs 60,000 per annum. Admission is given based on the merit of the last qualifying exam. I secured 88% aggregate marks in class 12 and was able to apply for admission in the BCA programme at IIU Una. The campus overall is great, it has all the facilities from well equipped classrooms and laboratories to sports and club facilities. The faculty is really cooperative and helpful. Placements are organised by the cell but majority of the engineering students receive job opportunities.

Placement: BCA placements in IIU Una were average. Only a few mid level companies visited to hire BCA students. Companies like Idea Foundation, Itronix Solution, Web Astral, etc. came for BCA placements. I was able to secure an internship with a stipend of Rs 5,000.

Infrastructure: There were well equipped computer labs. The classrooms had white board and projectors. Audio-visual equipment was also there. The campus was wifi enabled. A nurse was present during the class hours at the medical centre in case of emergency. There were also sports facilities for football and cricket.

Faculty: IIU Una faculty members were highly experienced in their respective fields. Some of them had PhDs and were from IITs and NITs. Each department maintained a student-teacher ratio of 3:1. The teachers also prepared us for placement interviews and helped with personality development.

Hostel: The hostels were good and safe. To ensure our safety a warden was present all the time. Ragging was prohibited. We had to follow a strict time for entry and exit from the campus. All the facilities for daily needs and recreation was made available. Wifi was provided as well.

Great place to study B.Tech
By Dev
Feb 14, 2024 5:28:34
4.5

Overall: In my opinion, choosing B.Tech in CSE at IIU Una was the best choice I made. The programme is four years (eight semesters) and the fee was Rs 1.10 lakh per annum. During my 6th semester, I was eligible to take part in the placement drives conducted on-campus. The university actively conducted drives through which many secured internships while others grabbed full-time job offers. To train us, many industry visits were conducted where faculty members guided us thoroughly. I was able to secure admission in IIU Una based on my JEE Main rank.

Placement: IIU Una had a dedicated placement cell that organised the placement drives. The cell also trained us and conducted personal development classes. Most of the companies that visited were from Chandigarh, Mohali, and Hoshiarpur regions. Companies like Grammy Electronics, Apple4Study, Bajaj Capital, etc. visited. I was able to secure a package of Rs 2.9 LPA.

Infrastructure: We had a dedicated computer lab with modern and updated software. The library consisted of over 2,000 books and other reading materials. There are sports grounds and a medical centre for emergencies. The whole campus is wifi enabled.

Faculty: Our teachers in the CSE department were highly skilled and knowledgeable. They assisted us in our time of need. Some of them were industry experts from CS Infotech, Web Astral, etc. The course material was industry-centric and was updated according to the current demands of the sector. The student teacher ration was 1:3.

Hostel: IIU Una hostel fees were around Rs 23,000 to Rs 35,000. I did not opt for a hostel. However, according to my classmates, the hostels were clean and tidy and had facilities for sports as well. The food was said to be mediocre, other than that, the hostels were safe and secure.
