National Brain Research Centre Overview

The National Brain Research Centre is a research centre that can be found at Manesar, which is located in the city of Gurgaon in India. It is a self-governing institution that also serves as a nodal site for the Department of Biotechnology, which is part of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the Indian government. The institute's mission is to do research in the fields of neuroscience and the functioning of the brain, both in health and in sickness, utilising interdisciplinary methods. M.Sc students of neuroscience are given a fellowship of Rs 12,000 per month.

This is the first independent institution run by DBT to get the "deemed to be university" designation from the Ministry of Education, which was originally known as the Ministry of Human Resource Development and made the announcement in May of 2002. In December of 2003, the Honorable President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, entrusted the NBRC with the responsibility of serving the country.

Prof. Prakash Narain Tandon is the founding chairman of the NBRC Society. Prof. Vijayalakshmi Ravindranath was the founder director, and she was succeeded by Prof. Prasun Roy, Prof. Subrata Sinha, and Prof. Neeraj Jain. Prof. Prakash Narain Tandon is the founder chairman of the NBRC Society. Prof. Pravat Kumar Mandal is now serving in the role of director-in-charge for the NBRC.

The institute is dedicated to the study of brain functions in both healthy and diseased states, the development of trained human resources that are equipped to conduct interdisciplinary research in neuroscience, and the promotion of neuroscience in India through networking among national institutions. Neurosciences & Behavioral Research Center (NBRC) fees is very reasonable, allowing students to take up the courses of their choice.

The Neurosciences & Behavioral Research Center (NBRC) is the only institution in India that is devoted to neuroscience research and teaching. Scientists and students at the Neurosciences and Behavior Research Center (NBRC) come from a variety of academic fields, such as the biological, computational, mathematical, physical, engineering, and medical sciences, and they employ multidisciplinary methods in order to discover the brain's hidden mysteries.

  • PRATEEK : The integration of data collected from multimodal brain imaging systems at different Regions of Interest (ROIs) provides a wealth of information on tissue microenvironment and its association with structural and functional changes in healthy or pathological conditions.
  • Stimulus Timing Integrated Module (STIM): A synchronised system to be utilised in fMRI for mapping brain activity non-invasively in varied settings for both normal healthy and clinical assessment of brain diseases.
  • GAURI : Designed using MRI modalities and neuropsychological batteries, GAURI is a systematic system that employs adaptive pattern recognition and learning methods for predicting single or differential diagnosis of illnesses such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
  • ANSH : The ANSH database provides essential neurochemical information from HO, MCI, and AD patients to promote collaborative research and worldwide data exchange across several sites for comparative purposes.
  • Development of a platform for well-characterised hNSC/iPSC-induced pluripotent cells: To comprehend the cellular–molecular processes of the healthy and sick brain, scientists have built a well-defined model of Human Neural Stem Cells (HNSCs). The work on NSCs has been developed by building a platform for human inducible pluripotent cells.
  • SWADESH : This innovative, automated neuro-instrument was created to help in the early identification of AD. This instrument comprises of numerous computer-assisted tools for data pre-processing, quality control, data preparation, analysis, evaluation, and evaluation. The primary purpose of this plan is to construct a complete neuro-tool for the benefit of the Indian populace. It offers a plan for the creation of MRI-, MRS-, and fMRI-based data, as well as a plan for the processing of multimodal neuroimaging and neuro-spectroscopy data in a single window, in order to produce a decisive result for the early identification of brain illnesses.
