The National Brain Research Centre is a research centre that can be found at Manesar, which is located in the city of Gurgaon in India. It is a self-governing institution that also serves as a nodal site for the Department of Biotechnology, which is part of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the Indian government. Prof. Prakash Narain Tandon is the founding chairman of the NBRC Society. Prof. Vijayalakshmi Ravindranath was the founder director, and she was succeeded by Prof. Prasun Roy, Prof. Subrata Sinha, and Prof. Neeraj Jain. Eligibility :

• Candidates enrolled in the final year of the qualifying test may also apply.
• Minimum of fifty-five percent (fifty percent for SC/ST/PH students) or equivalent grade or grade point average from secondary (10th) test onwards is necessary. Candidates should establish their eligibility by calculating their percentage to two decimal places.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD Neuroscience) :

• Master's degree or equivalent in any scientific discipline, such as life sciences / physics / chemistry / mathematics / statistics / computer applications / pharmacy / veterinary science / psychology, from an accredited institute / university.
• Students who have completed at least four years of coursework leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering / technology / medicine from a recognised institute / university.
• Candidates enrolled in the final year of the qualifying test may also apply.
• Minimum of 55% marks (50 % for SC/ST/PH applicants) or equivalent grade or grade point average from the secondary (10th) test onwards is necessary. Candidates should establish their eligibility by calculating their percentage to two decimal places.

• Foreign nationals seeking admission to NBRC must meet all of the PhD/M.Sc. qualifying standards outlined above.
• In addition, they must meet all the standards stipulated by the Indian government.

• Joint Graduate Admissions Test in Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS December 2023).
• Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering in Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Electrical Engineering / Electronics and Communications Engineering / Computer Science and Information Technology / Instrumentation Engineering (GATE-2021/GATE-2023).
• Joint Admissions Test (JEST) in 2023 (for Physics).
• Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) examination administered by the CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR in Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics. The fellowship's validity must be such that it may be activated on or after August 31, 2023.
• JRF candidates who have passed the UGC-NET on or after January 2023.
• On the basis of their success in any of the aforementioned qualifying tests, applicants will be shortlisted for NBRC-hosted interviews.

M.Sc :

• December 2021 Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS) 
• Candidates for the M.Sc course will only be screened using JGEEBILS.
• Candidates will be selected for a two-round interview based on their performance on the JGEEBILS test.

At the NBRC, research is conducted in several areas of neuroscience, including Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, Developmental Neuroscience, Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience, and Brain Imaging.
