A centralized counselling process is conducted for the purpose of allocation of seats to those candidates who have been shortlisted on the basis of their NIMCET scores.

Step 1 - Registration

The shortlisted candidates have to register themselves for the NIMCET counselling process first to initiate the MCA admission process at the participating NITs.

Step 2 - Choice Filling and Locking

The candidates have to use their NIMCET candidate credentials to lock their college choices and the same must be done before the last date is over to avoid automatic choice-filling.

Step 3 - Allocation of Seats

The institutes will offer their vacant MCA seats on the basis of the candidates’ performance in the NIT MCA entrance exam (i.e NIMCET) and their preference of institutes. The seat allotment process will be done in three rounds.

Step 4 - Final Admissions

Once the candidates are allocated seats of their preference, they will have to visit the particular NIT along with the seat allotment letter to confirm their admission. The candidates have to deposit the admission fee to confirm their admission in the seat allocated to them.

Seat Surrendering

Those candidates who have not been allocated seats as per their preference can opt to participate in the subsequent counselling round. However, they have to surrender their previously allocated seats to be considered for the next counselling round. An application must be put forth to the concerned officials regarding the surrendering of seats.

Vacant Seat Allocation

Those seats which remain vacant after the conclusion of a counselling round will be put under the vacant seat category which will be up for grab in the vacant seat allocation round. Those who had surrendered their seats previously or were not allocated seats during the previous counselling round will be considered in this round.
