The Shri Om Parkash Bansal Educational and Social Welfare Trust founded RIMT University in Punjab in 1998. It is situated in the Punjabi town of Gobindgarh. RIMT University has several schools that offer various UG, PG, and Research level programmes in science, commerce, arts, law, computer science, paramedics, management, journalism, and other fields. Candidates must complete and sign the Admission Form in their own handwriting. The application form must also be signed by the applicant's father or guardian. Admission to Ph.D. programmes in various disciplines will be based on UGC guidelines. Before the entrance exam, the number of seats for each discipline/school will be announced. Candidates applying under the Physically Handicapped/Disabled quota must have at least 40% disability in order to be eligible to apply. Candidates for B.Tech, BCA, and MCA are chosen through LEET counselling, whereas GATE entrance exam scores are used for M.Tech.

RIMT University Admission to B.Arch is based on NATA/JEE Main scores. The University's Entrance Test is used to determine admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes. Admission to the remaining courses is based on merit in the qualifying examination. Only candidates who can present original certificates/testimonials/documents at the time of counselling will be eligible to enrol in the desired programme.

When selecting candidates, preference will be given to students who have taken a test administered by a national governing body, i.e. those with a valid CET score/rank. Candidates who are older in age will be ranked higher in the order of merit. This applies if there is a tie in merit during the selection process. Reservation is provided in accordance with the Central Government's guidelines.

RIMT University conducts admission to its various courses online or offline mode as desired by the candidate.

• For online applications, the candidate may fill out the online registration/inquiry form and click SAVE.
• The candidate will be provided a unique Ticket ID which must be preserved for future reference.
• The candidate can now proceed to pay the registration fee through the PayU gateway.
• For offline application, candidates are required to visit the University campus and collect the application form and prospectus in person by paying the prescribed application fee.
• Candidates can also request the application form and prospectus via post by sending a demand draft of the application fee through registered post/ courier.
• Upon receiving the application form, the candidate must fill in all required details and not leave any column blank.
• The candidate must sign the application form before submitting it to the institute.
•  In case the applicant is opting for more than one course, separate forms must be filled out for each course.
• Copies of all the prescribed documents must accompany the complete application form.
• Applications without supporting documents or with partial documents are not eligible for admission.
• Candidates seeking benefits through reservation must indicate his/ her reservation category in the application form.
• A certificate of the applicable reserved category, issued by a competent authority, must be attached to the application form at the time of submission.

Documents required at the time of Admission:

Photocopies of the following documents must be attached to the application form and originals produced at the time of counselling:

1. Self-attested Xerox copy of Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate bearing date of birth
2. Self-attested Xerox copy of Marks Card of the qualifying examination, or evidence of having appeared in the qualifying examination
3. Character certificate issued by the Principal of the school/college last attended
4. Four recent passport-size self-attested photographs
5. Domicile / Reserved Category certificate, as applicable
6. Candidates with a gap period of one year or more must submit an affidavit stating that he/ she was not involved in any criminal activity during the gap period
7. Persons with Disability Certificates issued by the Chief Medical Officer of the concerned district.

At the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, RIMT University offers a variety of engineering degree programmes. Currently, the institute offers B. Tech programmes in six specialisations, a five-year B. Arch programme, M. Tech degrees in five specialisations, and Ph.D. programmes in five engineering departments. A pass in SSC/ 10+2/ any other equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% marks is the basic eligibility criteria for admission to B. Tech programmes. Candidates for B. Arch may be from any discipline as long as they have studied Mathematics and English at the 10+2 level. A B. Tech degree in the relevant or allied discipline is required for admission to the M. Tech courses. Candidates must also meet the additional requirement of obtaining at least 50% aggregate marks in B.Tech.

Ph.D. candidates are admitted if they meet the required eligibility criteria, which is a minimum aggregate of 60% in M.Tech. Candidates for M.Tech courses are chosen based on their GATE scores. Ph.D. candidates are chosen through an institute-wide selection process. Candidates for B. Tech are only admitted through LEET counseling. Admission to B.Arch is based on NATA/JEE Main scores.

Important Points for Engineering School Admission:

• Candidates with a three-year engineering diploma may apply for the B. Tech programme.
• Candidates who have completed a three-year Diploma in Architectural Assistantship are eligible to apply for the B. Arch programme.
• Architecture candidates must submit their CET score or (NATA/JEE Main) rank obtained in any other architecture aptitude test administered by a competent state authority.
• Candidates who have completed M.Sc. in the relevant science/engineering discipline are eligible to apply for M. Tech. admission.
• Candidates from the reserved categories are allowed a 5% mark reduction in the minimum marks eligibility criteria.
• Candidates from the SC/ST/PH categories must have at least 55% in their Master's degree to be eligible for Ph.D. programmes.

RIMT University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in a variety of scientific disciplines. In addition to a five-year integrated programme in Forensic Science, two UG programmes and a PG programme in Pharmacy (B. Pharm, D. Pharm., and PG Diploma), a Bachelor's programme in Fishery Science, a Bachelor in a Physiotherapy programme, and several 1-year, two-year, and two-and-a-half year Diploma programmes, the university offers B.Sc. Honours, B.Sc. Regular, M.Sc. and Ph. A pass in the Senior Secondary or equivalent exam with the concerned subject is the basic eligibility criteria for B.Sc. programmes. Candidates for M.Sc. programmes must have a B.Sc. degree in the relevant subject/discipline.

Ph.D. candidates must have a Master's degree (M.Sc.) in a relevant or related scientific discipline. The selection of UG and PG candidates is based on merit. Candidates for Ph.D. positions are chosen based on their performance in the institute-level selection test. The eligibility requirements for the other science courses differ from one another. For example, a 10+2/ SSC pass is required for B.F.S., BPT, B. Pharm, D. Pharm, and the integrated Forensic Science programme. A B. Pharm degree is required for admission to the PG Diploma programme in Pharmacy specialisations. Diploma candidates, on the other hand, must have completed SSC/ equivalent in science with PCM/ PCM as applicable.

Important Information for School of Science and Paramedic Admission:

• The student must have studied medical/non-medical at the 10+2 level in order to be admitted to the B.Sc. in Forensic Science programme.
• Candidates for M.Sc. Forensic Science must have completed B.Sc. Chemistry (in the absence of Forensic Science) at the undergraduate level.
• A minimum aggregate of 55% in M.Sc. (Agronomy/ Horticulture/ Plant Protection) is required for admission to Ph.D. in Agriculture.
• Candidates who have completed their 10+2 in science are eligible to apply for the Bachelor's programme in Medical Lab Technology (B.Sc. MLT)
• Candidates applying for Bachelor's and Diplomas in Physiotherapy must have completed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as intermediate-level subjects.

Through its School of Fine Arts & Fashion Design, RIMT University offers a variety of UG, PG, Ph.D., and Diploma courses in the fields of Fashion and Fine Arts. In the degree segment, the institute offers B.Sc. Fashion Design, M.Sc. Fashion Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Masters in Fine Arts (MFA), M.Phil. Fine Arts/ Fashion Design, and Ph.D. in Fine Arts/ Fashion Design. RIMTU offers three diploma programmes: a Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion Design (PGDFD), a Diploma in Fashion Design (DFD), and a Diploma in Art and Craft.

A pass in the SSC/equivalent exam is required for admission to the B.Sc. Fashion Design, BFA, and DFD programmes.

BFA candidates must also have received at least 40% in their previous qualifying exam. Candidates for M.Sc. Fashion Design and PGDFD must be graduates, while MBA candidates must have a BFA degree with any relevant specialisation. Post-graduate education is required as the minimum qualification for admission to the M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes. Candidates for the Diploma in Art & Craft must have passed the Matric/ 10th standard exam. Candidates for all programmes, except M.Phil. and Ph.D., are chosen on the basis of merit. Important Information for Admission to the School of Fine Arts and Fashion Technology:

Candidates who have completed the 10th grade and have a two-year Diploma in Arts & Crafts/ Fashion Designing/ Interior Designing are eligible to apply for the BFA programme. Candidates for Lateral Entry to the BFA programme must have an SSC/ 10+2 with a two-year Diploma in Art & Craft.

RIMT University School of Fine Arts & Fashion Design Courses:

Through the School of Social Sciences, RIMT University provides BA (Honors), MA, M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in a number of social science fields. Passing the Senior Secondary exam is the minimum requirement for admission to the BA (Hons.) programme. Candidates for the MA degree must have earned a Bachelor's degree with an appropriate Social Science specialty.

It is necessary to hold a post-graduate degree in the pertinent specialisation in order to be admitted to the M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes. Candidates are chosen for the BA (Hons.) and MA programmes solely based on merit. Candidates for the M. Phil. and Ph.D. programmes are chosen based on how well they performed on the entrance exam.

Important information regarding School of Social Science Admission: 

Candidates who received 50% or more on their most recent qualifying test are eligible for direct admission to the BA Hons., MA, and M.Phil. programmes.

•  The specializations offered under this school include English, Hindi and Punjabi languages. The basic eligibility for the BA (Hons.) program is a pass in the Senior Secondary exam.
• MA candidates need to have Bachelor’s degree in the relevant language discipline.

RIMT University offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs in the field of commerce under its School of Commerce. The various courses offered by the school include B. Com., M. Com., Ph.D. in Commerce, and M. Phil. in Commerce.

The basic eligibility criteria for the B.Com. Program is a pass in senior secondary level exam with Commerce as a subject. M.Com. candidates must hold a B.Com degree in order to be eligible. • For BCA Lateral Entry, candidates with Matric and a three-year Diploma in any trade are eligible. Senior Secondary pass candidates With ITI certification are also eligible for Lateral Entry.
• MCA candidates must have completed Graduation with Mathematics/ Statistics/ OR/ QT. Mathematics at 10+2 level is also a requirement for admission to the MCA program.

The basic eligibility criteria for the integrated programs is a pass in the Senior Secondary exam. B.Ed. candidates are required to have completed graduation in any discipline. For admission to the MA Ed. program, candidates who have completed the integrated courses are eligible.

Key Points for School of Library Science Admission:

• For admission to the B.Lib. Program, a minimum of 50% marks in graduation is required.
• For reserved category candidates, the minimum marks eligibility criteria for the application programs is relaxed by 5%.
