Factors Affecting PEC JEE Main Cutoff 2023

There are not one but various factors that affect Punjab Engineering College JEE Main Cutoff 2023 as listed below:

  1. Total number of applicants: The number of candidates applying for admission to PEC through JEE Main can impact the cutoff. If the number of applicants is high, the competition will be tougher, and the cutoff scores may increase.
  2. Difficulty level of JEE Main: The overall difficulty level of the JEE Main exam can influence the cutoff. If the exam is relatively difficult, the cutoff scores may be lower, and vice versa.
  3. Previous year's cutoff trends: The cutoff scores of previous years can provide some idea of the expected cutoff for 2023. It is often observed that the cutoff remains similar or slightly varies from one year to another.
  4. Seat availability: The number of available seats in different engineering branches at PEC can affect the cutoff. If the number of seats is limited or there is a high demand for certain branches, the cutoff scores may rise.
  5. Reservation policy: The reservation policy implemented by PEC can impact the cutoff for different categories such as SC/ST/OBC-NCL and economically weaker sections (EWS). Each category may have separate cutoff scores based on the percentage of reserved seats.
  6. Performance of candidates: The overall performance of candidates in the JEE Main exam will directly affect the cutoff. If the majority of candidates perform exceptionally well, the cutoff scores may increase. Similarly, if the overall performance is relatively lower, the cutoff scores may decrease.
