  • A candidate should be a pass in 10+2 science stream
  • The candidate must have passed the (i) Intermediate examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, or Diploma in Pharmacy examination of the Dept. of Technical Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized by the academic senate as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology as group subjects and must have qualified in the Entrance Exams as prescribed by the University for being eligible to join I semester of B.Pharm course.
  • The candidate must have, after passing the qualifying examination pursued a regular course of study for not less than four academic years (three academic years in the case of diploma in pharmacy holders who are admitted directly in to 2nd year(3rd semester) of B.Pharm) and satisfied the academic requirements as prescribed thereafter. The scope of subject matter in each course and periods of study shall be as indicated in the syllabus and the scheme of instruction.
  • Instruction and examination in each academic year is spread over two semesters with a minimum of 90 working days in each semester (180 in any given academic year). How ever in the case of semesters I and II of B.Pharm the instruction and examination shall be organized simultaneously spread over the entire academic year of 180 days to save time that may be lost due to possible delays in the admission process.
  • Each period of instruction is of 45 minutes duration. Eight periods of instruction are provided on each day and there are six working days in a week (Monday to Saturday).
  • Attendance Requirements: A regular course of study during an academic semester means a minimum of average attendance of 75% of all the courses of the semester computed by totaling the number of periods of lectures and practicals, as the case may be, held in every course. In special cases where sufficient causes were shown, the Vice-Chancellor may on therecommendation of the Principal and Head of the Department concerned condone the deficiency in the average attendance to an extent of 9% for reasons such as ill health, if the application for condonation is submitted at the time of actual illness and is supported by certificate of; authorized Medical Officer approved

    The admission will be through common entrance examination.
    6. Objectives of the course The objective is to train a candidate so as to ensure higher competence in both general and special area of interest and prepare him/her for a career in teaching, research and specialty practice. A candidate must achieve a high degree of professional proficiency in the subject matter and develop competence in research and its methodology as related to the field concerned.
    7. Course Requirement
    The course shall include Theory, Practicals, Tests, Seminars, Assignments and project work.
    8. Course structure and Scheme of Examination
    The course will be conducted on credit system and evaluation will be on seven point grading system.
    9. Credit System
    In this system credits will be allotted to each paper. Each theory paper will be given credits on the basis of number of teaching hours shown against each paper in the following table. One hour of teaching of theory paper in a week will be given one credit. Each practical will be given credits on the basis of number of practical hours shown against each practical in the following table. Two hours of practical paper in a week will be given one credit.
    10. Gradation System
    The course will be evaluated and the students will be graded on ten point scale with seven letter grades i.e., O, A, B, C, D, E, F.
    11. Number of working days
    In each semester at least ninety working days (15 weeks of six working days) must be dedicated for theory classes, practical classes and seminars.
    12. Attendance
    The regulations regarding the attendance, condonation will be as per the general regulations adopted by the university.

    15. Seminars and Assignments
    a) The candidate should deliver two seminars in the First semester and One in the Second semester on the topics allotted. 3 teachers of the concerned subject shall evaluate each seminar.
    b) At the end of the Second semester each candidate should face the comprehensive viva-voce examination evaluated by an external examiner along with two internal examiners.
    c) The candidate should do two assignments in First semester and one assignment in Second semesters on the topics allotted. Two teachers of the concerned subject shall evaluate each of the assignment and average of two shall be the marks secured by the candidate.
    16. Submission of Dissertation
    a) Every candidate shall submit five copies of the dissertation including synopsis at the end of 4th semester.
    b) An External Examiner shall evaluate the dissertation
