SPJIMR Mumbai PGDM Admissions 2023 Shortlisting Process
The applicants are selected based on their profiles. They must also get qualifying scores on at least one of the entrance tests. Profiles are scored, and applicants are divided into two groups: profile-based (first phase) and profile-cum-score-based (second phase).
Interview Shortlists
The shortlist is based on their profile, taking into account the following factors:
- Academic record consistency,
- Relevance of work experience to the selected speciality,
- Versatility and accomplishments.
In the case of a profile-based shortlist, meeting the minimum eligibility cutoff in the admission exam is required to appear for the interview. Early interviews are advantageous to applicants since they prevent conflict with other interview calls during the admissions season. It allows the institute to stagger interviews and ensure that the interview process remains robust even when the number of people being interviewed is huge.
Shortlists for the Second Phase
This phase is held following the release of entrance test results. Applicants in this step are invited to interviews based on their profile as described above, as well as their success in the entrance tests.
- Round 1 personal interviews for PGDM 2023-2025 will be held online on a platform chosen by the institute.
- Round 2 interviews will take place in person. After the shortlists are announced, detailed information about the interview process/requirements will be shared with the shortlisted applicants.
Final Selection List
The applicant's profile, academic record, admission test results (CAT/GMAT), relevance of work experience (if any), and performance in the two rounds of group interviews are all considered in the selection process.
SPJIMR does not permit the deferment of an admission offer to a later year. Any misrepresentation or suppression of information by an applicant at any point of the admissions process or subsequently will result in instant disqualification from SPJIMR.

SPJIMR Mumbai PGDM Placements
The placement performance in terms of average salaries offered, the number of participating companies, and the speed with which offers were distributed reflected SPJIMR's goodwill, the institute's deep and lasting relationships with the corporate sector, and the strong value that MBA participants bring to the companies for which they work. It also emphasised the institute's agility and resilience, as well as the students' readiness to take on demanding tasks and deliver on corporate goals with social sensitivity. The final placements process was performed online for the first time, building on the experiences of participants who used online platforms for the autumn internships.
Students, educators, and businesspeople have not interacted in person since the pandemic-induced lockdown went into place in March of last year. To suit the convenience and security needs of businesses, a number of platforms and procedures were established for the process. This year, the average yearly wage (cost-to-company) is INR 26.06 lakhs. This is consistent with the levels recorded last year. The median annual income was INR 25 lakhs per annum, with over 26% of the batch receiving offers in excess of INR 30 lakhs per annum and more than 80% receiving offers in excess of INR 20 lakhs per annum.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, approximately 50% of the batch secured PPO/PPI opportunities through the autumn internship and corporate competitions with companies such as Amazon, Boston Consulting Group, Colgate Palmolive, Hindustan Unilever, Procter & Gamble, and Tata Administrative Services, among others. The significant number of offers in a year defined by substantial changes in the business environment demonstrated high levels of faith in the unique SPJIMR autumn internship concept. Participants in this programme complete autumn internships in September-October after completing their specialisation courses, making them more business ready.
