AKTU will begin the B.Tech admission process in June. Usually, the B.Tech admission process begins after the announcement of JEE Main results and Class 12 (Intermediate) board exams.
Candidates can enrol in engineering programmes by undergoing national and state-level entrance examinations. Admission will be granted only to those who have taken and passed the entrance exam. All the government and private engineering colleges in Uttar Pradesh accept JEE Main entrance exam scores for B.Tech admissions. Candidates who wish to secure admission in UP government engineering colleges or admission under Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) scheme must appear for JEE Main only. The state government seat-reservation rules are also applicable to the JEE Main exam. Therefore, the B.Tech aspirants of Uttar Pradesh must keep a track of important dates of JEE Main exam.
The Uttar Pradesh B.Tech admission eligibility criteria are as follows –
Domicile Rule: B.Tech aspirants from Uttar Pradesh and outside UP can apply for JEE Main examination, and are eligible for B.Tech admission in Uttar Pradesh. However, outside the UP domicile students are not eligible for the B.Tech seat in government engineering colleges across the state. The reservation policy of the state government for B.Tech admissions and the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme is applicable to UP domicile students. Outside UP domicile students are not eligible for the fee waiver scheme.
Academic Requirements: B.Tech aspirants of Uttar Pradesh must have passed Class 12 with two compulsory subjects such as Physics and Mathematics along with an optional subject such as Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject. The candidates must have at least 40-45% of marks in Intermediate (Class 12).
Entrance Test Score: The B.Tech aspirants of UP must have a valid JEE Main score to secure admission. For admission into government engineering colleges, only JEE Main score is valid.

Know All About NAT Questions: The NTA conducts JEE Main Exam at the national level every year across the country to provide admission to candidates in varied engineering colleges. A large number of students participate in JEE Main 2023 exam every year but not many are aware of the comprehensive exam pattern beforehand.
