SSDCCE Campus

Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce & Economics, has hi-end infrastructure and it also contains all the necessary facilities. SS Dempo college has a well-stocked library with thousands of books from renowned authors. The college has separate B. Com. and B.B.A./ M. Com. Computer labs with all the modern amenities like WiFi, LAN and CCTV cameras. Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce & Economics also houses clubs to provide various recreational activities. In order to provide overall development in students the college actively participates in various sports activities. For this all sorts of sports facilities are there in the campus itself.

Students Activities & Clubs

Nature Club -

Nature, Art and Photography Club is an initiative towards sensitizing the student community on environment matters and also a platform for appreciation of art. Further, the club undertakes activities for development of photography skills amongst member students.


Movie Club -

Theatre Club was established in the year 2000 to enhance the acting skills and to build up self confidence and to developed the overall Personality of the Students.
Since inception the members of the club has participated in various intercollegiate one act play and skit competition organized by Kala Academy, Rajiv Kala Mandir, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs Gomantak-Sakaal , a various organizations. The members of the club has bagged various prizes during these competitions.
Theatre Club has invited various prominent and well known theatre artists like Ms. Varsha Usgaonkar, Shri Ramesh Bhatkar, Shri Ajinkya Dev and Shri Sachin Kedekar. This has provided opportunity to our students to interact with theartre personalized and get important tips to enhance their theatre Skills.
The Club is continuously conducting Theatre workshops to sharpen the theatre skill and to remove stage inhibitions and fear among the students. During the current academic year, the workshop was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Santosh Shetkar, wherein 28 students actively participated.


Student Council Club -

The Reading Club aims at developing the Reading Habit among students and to help them find their hidden talents with the help of following activities-
1. A visit to The Goa University Library
2. Article/Book Review
3. Special Lectures on various issues related to- Career, Literature, Mass Media, Study Techniques etc.
4.Book Exhibition
5. Competitions: a) Extempore Speech
b) Essay and Poetry Writing.


Movie Club -

The college has a movie club called the Filmy Club which aims at developing a culture of discriminating film viewing among the students.The major activity of the club is to screen classic films and discuss the finer aspects of the film. Several films have been screened – the Mel Brooks comedy, ‘History of the World Part 1′ the George Cukor musical ‘My Fair Lady’ based on George Bernard Shaw’s play ‘Pygmalion’,which students of the F.Y. B.Com. have to study in their English paper, and the Marathi film ‘Harishchandrachi Factory’ which describes how Dadasaheb Phalke helped set up the Indian film industry.  Entry to the films screened is done on a first come first served basis.The club also plans to organize workshops by filmmakers and actors, as also encourage students to participate in film festivals. A competition among students to make videos using their cell phone cameras is also on the cards.


Computer Hardware and Software Club -

The I.T. club was started with the sole purpose of learning Computers and its various applications, which are not in the syllabus, through fun filled methods. The students are actively involved in the whole process and they are eager to exchange their knowledge and expertise with their friends and learning is a pleasure since no formal lecture methods are used but usually demonstrations and displays play an integral part here. Students choose the club voluntarily and usually work with a lot of enthusiasm.
Every year the senior member students organise an introductory session for the juniors for an orientation about the club activities. This session also includes various ice-breaking games which help the students to know each other and work for the entire year comfortably


Yoga Club -

 Talk on Stress Management and Yoga Club was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Suraj Kanekar.
Ms. Megha Kampli from FYBCom A demonstrated various asanas during the Occation.
Yoga Club started yoga classes in the College under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Shashikant Morajakar


Entrepreneurship Club -

The college E-Cell has been established in the academic year 2014-15. This cell has been set up in association with Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration (CIBA), Assagao and with support from E-Cell of Goa Institute of Management (GIM). E-cells helps students understand the various benefits of entrepreneurship and think of it as a viable and lucrative career option. It also encourages independent and entrepreneurial talent and provides a platform for young budding entrepreneurship. The cell has conducted number of programmes including business plan competitions, marketing competitions, social network based competitions and has invited guest speakers and entrepreneurs for motivating students to take the path of entrepreneurship. areer option. NSS Club -

The NSS unit is an extremely active cell of the college. It has over 400 registered volunteers and an dedicated team of programme officers.


NCC Club -

The NCC unit of the college is attached to 1 Goa Bn NCC. It is a stong contingent of 80 cadets headed by ANO Vinod Joshua, and includes boys as well as permitted number of girl students. Besides the unit registers students from neighbouring colleges as cadets. The NCC unit of S. S. Dempo College has history of producing the most disciplined cadets who have always provided their services to the state government by participating in parades including Goa Liberation Day Parade, Guard of Honour, election duties, and initiatives on environment protection. Our students have also achieved accomplishment of being part of prestigious Republic Day Parades on several occasions.

Being a management student of this university, I would say a big NO if you really wanted to do MBA than just go for LPU it is best university for management and yes for other subjects also. Industrial exposure, Internships are there and moreover best placements opportunities for management students are there in the university. According to LPU officials they usually say that they provide 100% placements to all the eligible and placement aspiring candidates. 500+ companies visit to the campus and university provide them the best of the candidates who are already industry ready. People who think that they can study from where ever and it will be best for them, then I am sorry to say this, that if u what to study for just a piece of a paper then please go ahead these universities/collages are no harm.
