  • Slot 1 of the CAT 2023 exam had a total of 66 questions that students had to attempt in 120 minutes.
  • Each section (VARC, DILR, and QA) had a time limit of 40 minutes.

CAT 2023 Slot 2 Exam Analysis by Career Launcher

  • There was one mandatory Verbal Ability question in the VARC section (odd one out)
  • There were 24 questions in the VARC section, 20 questions in the DILR section, and 22 questions in the QA section.
  • In terms of difficulty, slot 2 of the CAT 2023 exam was more difficult than slot 1 as well as the CAT 2022 exam.
  • The QA section was more difficult as compared to slot 1 as well as the CAT 2022 exam.
  • No questions were found from Modern Math.
  • Algebra had a higher difficulty level and the questions on Arithmetic involves complex calculations.

For CAT 2021, the overall level of difficulty was moderate. In the CAT 2021, a total raw score of between 97 and 99 was sufficient to achieve the 99%ile. The CAT 2021 exam followed the format of the CAT 2020 exam, which had a shorter time limit of two hours, leaving 40 minutes for each section. But there were fewer questions in each of the sections. In the CAT 2021 exam, there were 66 questions to complete in two hours, distributed as follows by section: VARC: 24 questions; DILR: 20 questions; QA: 22 questions; all to be answered in 40 minutes.

CAT 2023 Cutoffs For Top B-schools

Based on their CAT scores and percentiles, candidates are chosen for subsequent rounds of the selection process. The B-school institutions do, however, take into account additional factors when selecting candidates.
