National Law Exams of India Eligibility Criteria

The first step that has to be taken by a candidate before applying for an entrance exam is to check the eligibility criteria for the same. Candidates who fail in meeting the eligibility criteria of the particular law entrance exam will not be considered for admission despite having successfully completed the application process. Therefore, it is mandatory for all law aspirants to check the eligibility criteria of national law entrance exams before proceeding with the application process. The general eligibility criteria for the exams have been given below.

For Admission to Undergraduate Law Courses:

In order to be eligible for UG law courses offered in India, the student has to complete his/ her education up to class 12th.
The school from which the candidate clears his/ her higher secondary education must be affiliated to a recognised board of education like the CBSE, the ISC, or any state board.
Candidates have to receive passing marks in all the subjects that they have at the 10 + 2 level.
Additionally, the aggregate marks scored by the candidates in class 12th board examinations should not be less than 45 per cent to 50 per cent.

For Admission to Postgraduate Law Courses:

Candidates seeking admission to a PG law course have to complete their education up to the graduation level.
They must have an undergraduate degree in law. It can be an integrated law course or an LLB degree that is done after a graduation course.
The university under which candidates obtain their bachelor degree must be recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The aspirant must have passed in all the subjects of graduation and his/ her aggregate score in the undergraduate degree should be at least 45 per cent to 50 per cent.

Passing the AILET exam will get you admission to the prestigious NLU, Delhi whereas passing the CLAT exam will allow you to take admission in any one of the 22 NLUs in India. The number of seats available for AILET are lesser as compared to CLAT and the volume of candidates are high for both the exams which make AILET a slightly tougher exam when compared to CLAT.

Who is the conducting body of the LFAT law exam?

The University of Allahabad administers the Law Faculty Admission Test (LFAT) to candidates seeking admission to the five-year Integrated LLB (Hons) programme provided by the Faculty of Law and its constituent colleges. The University of Allahabad administers the test on a national level using a pen-and-paper format.

Dear student, to be eligible for admission to the 3-year LLB programme at PRIST University, Madurai, you must have completed your bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects, including languages. The PRIST University, Madurai admission process is as follows: a) Candidates must visit the PRIST University website and fill out the online application form. b) Candidates must pay the PRIST University, Madurai application fee. c) Upload the required documents, including your mark sheets, certificates, and passport-size photographs. d) Submit the application form.

Hello Sakshi,

To secure admission to the B.A LLB programme at Swami Vivekananda Law College, you must have passed 10+2 with at least 45% marks (SC/ ST category candidates - 40%). The programme is 5 years long and divided into 10 semesters. It has an intake of 120 students. The programme is affiliated to CCS University, Meerut and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI).

MS Motihari College admissions are open for the current academic session. Students at MS College Motihari are selected on the basis of marks obtained in the previous qualifying examination. There is no entrance test for the LLB course. Students can also get scholarships as per the government policies.
