Established in 1981, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) offers a four-year B.Des programme in Humanising Technology that focuses on equipping students with multi-stream skillsets and potential to visualise 2D, 3D and 5D experiences. NMIMS conducts NMIMS Programs after Twelfth (NPAT) + Design Aptitude Section (DAS) along with certain other stages for admission to B.Des.

NMIMS B.Des Seat Intake 2021
A total of 30 seats shall be available for the programme of BDes (Humanising Technology) at the NMIMS Mumbai campus.
NMIMS B.Des Eligibility Criteria 2021
In order to be eligible for the BDes programme at NMIMS, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent in any stream from a recognised board with not less than 60% marks in aggregate.
IB certificate or DP awarded candidates will be considered eligible only if they have cleared their IB exam with a total of 24 credits having passed 3 HL (at least 12 credits) and 3 SL (at least 9 credits).
The candidate must have passed all the subjects appeared for in the qualifying examination. The same will be taken into consideration to confirm the eligibility of the candidate for the programme.
In case the mark sheet issued by the concerned board or institution is in percentile, then the actual percentage should be taken in aggregate of all the subjects taken by the candidate will be considered for eligibility.
The upper age limit for BDes at NMIMS BDes is 25 years.
Candidates who are admitted on the basis of merit list and in case they do not have their 10+2 examination mark sheets will be given “provisional admission” on the basis of predicted scores.
The candidate who could not clear the 10+2 or equivalent examination in the first attempt will not be eligible to apply for the course.
Candidates appearing for their qualifying exam can also apply only if they can obtain the required minimum cut off marks and produce all the necessary documents, in original, within the given time.
How to Apply for NMIMS B.Des Admission 2021
Mentioned below are the steps to apply for the BDes programme offered by NMIMS:
Step 1: Register Online and Payment of Application Fee
Visit the official website of NMIMS to register online for BDes admission.
Pay the application fee of INR 1,800 plus applicable taxes for the programme.
Choose the date for the exam carefully. Candidates would not be allowed to make changes after successful registration and payment.
Step 2: Upload Photos
There is a specific format in which the required photos should be uploaded. The same shall be in .jped format and its dimensions shall be 200 pixels tall and 150 pixels wide.
The size of the photo should not exceed 200 kb.
The background of the photo should either be white or light coloured.
Eyes of the candidate should be open and clearly visible in the photo.
The photo should not be more than six months old.
Candidates should not be seen wearing a cap or sunglass in the photo.

NMIMS B.Des Selection Process 2021
All those who seek admission to the BDes programme (Humanising Technology) offered at NMIMS, Mumbai can go through its selection process mentioned in detail below to have a clear idea of the same:
All the eligible candidates will be required to first register for the programme online.
After that, candidates will receive a detailed email about uploading their portfolio within 10 days of paying the registration fee. Uploading the portfolio is mandatory and it will be reviewed by NMIMS. Only those candidates who have submitted the portfolios will receive a call letter to appear for the online Studio Test.
Candidates who upload their portfolios will receive a call letter for the Studio Test. The test will be conducted through online meeting platforms with human proctoring (Zoom / Microsoft Teams).
In the next step, candidates will be sent call letters for the Personal Interview and Portfolio Review round. This round will also be conducted online.
A merit list will be prepared based on the candidate's performance in all the rounds. The list will be released on the official website of NMIMS and candidates featuring in it will be required to pay the admission fee and secure their seat before the deadline.

NMIMS B.Des Course Fee 2021
The fees for the BDes programme at NMIMS keep changing from time to time. For the current academic year, the course fees are as follows:
Programme fees for BDes first year in 2019 were INR 3,51,500.
For 2021, the course fee will be declared at the time of admission.
Important Instructions for NMIMS BDes Admission 2021
Here are other important instructions regarding NMIMS BDes Admission 2021.
Seats will be offered on the basis of their availability and the rank of the candidate in all the stages of admission.
In case a candidate wants to cancel or withdraw the allocated seats, he/she shall email at admissioncancellation@nmims.edu and enclose a duly filled soft copy of the institute’s admission cancellation form, a signed receipt of the fee paid and a cancelled cheque (personal account). The form can be found on the official website of the university.
All the applicants are advised to keep the official website of NMIMS regularly to keep a track of updates regarding BDes admission.
If a candidate is found ineligible for the course, her/his candidature shall be cancelled/rejected there and then.
All the uploaded documents will be verified online and if a candidate is found ineligible, his/her admission will be cancelled.
