ISO certification TCET was one amongst the very first few engineering colleges that understood the relevance of ISO certification and was awarded ISO 9001- 2000 Standard on 21 December 2005. Striving for quality and continual improvement has always been the bedrock of TCET, and it once again proved its mettle by effective implementation of processes defined in the ISO manual which directly resulted in an environment of overall development and growth. All this culminated in the institute being recertified successfully in 2014 with ISO 9001-2008 Standard.Likely to be certified for nISO 9001:2015 from Nov 2016 onwards.

NBA Accreditation Implementation of ISO helped the institute to improve policies and processes which further enhanced quality technical education. Acknowledging the progress made by TCET in terms of excellent technical education, innovative and proactive teaching-learning, excellent placements, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and the fulfillment of all other required yardsticks NBA certified three programmes CMPN, EXTC and IT for 3 years w.e.f. 16.9.2011.As per revised guidelines NBA has Re-accredited these three programmes and accredited ETRX programme w.e.f. ist July 2016 for two years.

IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) Relentless pursuit of quality with constant support of the management and dedicated efforts by the faculty led to the addition of another feather in TCET’s cap with the winning of the IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) for the year 2015 and it has also received Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) Commendation Certificate for the year 2012 for performance excellence in the education category. The Indian Merchant Chamber’s Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award, which is based on Malcolm Baldrige criteria, a USA quality model, further authenticated TCET’s march towards excellence.

Emerging Institute - AICTE- CII Survey Yet another significant milestone was achieved by TCET when it featured in the AICTE-CII survey in 2013 and 2014 as an emerging private engineering institute with one of the best industry linkages. This survey ranks various engineering departments on the basis of their association with industry and TCET’s Computer Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics &Telecommunication were given high ranking

TCET understands that quality can never be the destination but will always remain a journey. These recognitions and awards are important milestones in this journey. The institute will, therefore, work relentlessly to live up to the enormous trust placed by all its stakeholders and will strive to bring many more such accolades in future.

Overall: A quite normal university for an average student. Academics might be stressful but you get well balanced if you become socially active. But if you are considering, don't expect a luxury service!

Placement: They put more emphasis in jobs stats which is a heavy demand for majors like business, engineering and so on and so forth. The other ones might need more independent applications/networking from you.

Infrastructure: Libraries and studying areas are not bad but the housing is very unreliable. Even though several dorms may look outdated and parking is a struggle unless you live far off-campus.

Hostel: You should expect tiny rooms with the basic facilities unless super rich and are remodeling the flat. Dining hall menu rapidly becomes monotonous. The environment of the hostel is too good.

Overall: This college is all about maximizing the college experience. By offering a diverse range of activities and fostering a culture of open communication with professors, they're ensuring no student feels isolated or lost.

Placement: The university has a strong placement record (around 80-85%), but the jobs are primarily with mass recruiters or startups and offer moderate salaries between 15,000 and 20,000 rupees. Internship opportunities are available in the summers of the first and second years.

Infrastructure: My college offers a well-rounded experience. Classrooms are well-maintained and stocked with supplies, there's plenty of parking for everyone, and the college prioritizes eco-friendly practices. To top it off, you can unwind with various indoor games available.

Hostel: Though the hostel does a daily clean from 11am to 2pm, the owners are understanding and will allow access if you ask. It's the perfect window to explore with your newfound hostel crew! Hostel life has been a significant growth experience for me.

Good college but could improve

Overall: When I visited the College before applying, I was very very impressed by its infrastructure and the feel of a university. It is also near to many food malls and good places. So decided to apply to this college since it was also near to my house. My first year was online during the COVID period. It started in offline mode at the end of the second year. It is great overall. It has various clubs to join and work in student forums. But the population of this college has increased drastically in last 2 years. During the break, we can't even find a place to sit, we have to sit on stairs to eat our tiffins since the Canteen is always packed. This is something they could improve on. Baki, overall, the faculty is okayish, depends on your branch. Overall 3/5.

Placement: The placements start from 3 LPA, which is very low and most of the companies come for marketing placements, which is not related to any engineering background.

Infrastructure: I love its infrastructure to be honest. It has an auditorium, recreation rooms, labs etc. The infrastructure is quite spacious and big. I was really impressed by it.

Faculty: The faculty of Electronics branch is not that good, some of them just read the slides and have no practical knowledge. When doubts are asked, they just avoid answering them. But I think faculties from CS, IT, AIML, AIDS are quite good.

Hostel: I didn't stay in their hostel, so I don't have much idea about them. Student coming from farway usually prefer to rent flats instead of the hostel as far as I know.

It is difficult to say for sure if you can get admission to Thakur College of Engineering and Technology Mumbai with a percentile of 49.614 in MHT CET. The cut-off percentile for TCET Mumbai varies from year to year and also depends on the number of applicants and their scores. In 2022, the cut-off percentile for Thakur College of Engineering Mumbai was 61.5 for the general category. However, it is possible that the cut-off percentile may be lower in 2023.
