NMAT 2020 Selection Process

On the basis of NMAT 2020 result, the selection, including the shortlisting, of candidates, takes place. Candidates who have been shortlisted have to appear for the selection rounds at the institutes. Here are all of the details about the NMIMS Mumbai selection criteria.

The NMAT 2020 selection procedure follows two steps for selecting the deserving and qualified candidates.

Step 1: The first step involves, clearing the entrance exam.

Step 2: The second step involves, appearing for Group Discussion (GD)/ Writing Ability Test (WAT)/ Case Discussion (CD) and Personal Interview rounds.

Based on the NMAT by GMAC result and NMAT by GMAC cut-off, candidates who have qualified the overall exam will be eligible to take admission to various NMAT by GMAC participating Institutes. Colleges accepting NMAT by GMAC scores in South Africa and the Philippines may have additional selection criteria as well.

Note- It is mandatory for the candidates to carry their NMAT by GMAC 2020 admit cards to participate in the further rounds of the selection process.

Detailed NMAT 2020 Selection Procedure

To enrol in management Institutes accepting NMAT 2020 scores, the selection process is as follows:

  • Candidates appear for the computer-based NMAT 2020.

  •  The results of NMAT 2020 are declared followed by the NMAT cut-off scores for various programmes and colleges.

  • On the basis of their scores, candidates are shortlisted for the pre-admission rounds. Here, the selected candidates need to participate in the Personal Interview (PI) and Case Discussion (CD) rounds.
    In the Case Discussion (CD) round, shortlisted candidates are divided into a group of 5-10 person and each group will be asked to discuss a case for 15-20 minutes.

  • Based on the performance in Case Discussion (CD) round, candidates are selected for Personal Interview.

  • After the Case Discussion (CD) round final round in the selection procedure is personal Interview, it is conducted to judge candidate’s knowledge of diverse topics, confidence, ability to counter pressure among other things.

  • Candidates have to present all the original documents of formal education and work experience (if any).

  • The final result is issued after compilation of the candidate’s entrance test score, work experience, academic profile, and performance in Case Discussion (CD) and Personal Interview(PI) rounds.

Documents Required for NMAT 2020 CD / PI Rounds

At the time of admission, the selected candidates have to take the following documents for submission:

  • Class 10th Mark Sheet & Passing Certificate

  • Class 12th Mark Sheet & Passing Certificate

  • Provisional/Original Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate of Graduation

  • Master's Mark sheet & Passing Certificate

  • Certificate of AIU ( or University Equivalence)

  • Certificate of Migration

  • Work Experience Certificate

  • Eligibility Certificate (If required)

  • Medical Fitness Certificate

  • Mediclaim policy

  • Reservation certificate (if required)
