The examination conducting body uses the MAH MBA CET normalisation process to compare candidate scores across multiple shift papers. This process is comparable to those used in other Indian MBA entrance exams. The MAH MBA CET is divided into numerous sessions over three days, with two sessions each day. While preparing the merit list, the examination authority does not simply compile the candidates' scores based on the sum of their correct and incorrect answers. Instead, they use score normalisation to ensure all candidates are graded on the same scale.
This is necessary because one session of a multi-session exam can be slightly easier or harder than another. The MAH CET score normalisation process ensures that no candidate is in a favourable or unfavourable position when the MAH MBA CET result and merit list are prepared. In MAH CET MBA/MMS, the percentile score, calculated up to seven decimal places, is used as the Normalised Score instead of the raw scores of the candidates. The formula for percentile score calculation is:
100 x (No. of candidates in a session with raw score ≤ the candidate’s score) |
