SNAP 2023 Selection Process

As part of the SNAP 2023 selection process, participating institutes of SNAP follow two steps after the exam is conducted. While taking the SNAP exam is the first step, the next step is appearing for either Group Exercise (GE), Writing Ability Test (WAT), or Personal Interaction (PI) round. Candidates who meet the SNAP cutoff for their chosen SNAP participating institutes are selected for further rounds of admission.

Based on candidates' performance in the exam, participating institutes shortlist them for the next round, which usually comprises either Group Exercise (GE), Writing Ability Test (WAT), or Personal Interaction (PI) round.  Seat allotment is done on the basis of a merit list. Candidates will also have the option to withdraw from the counselling process if they choose to do so during the selection process.

Step-Wise SNAP 2023 Selection Process

Candidates who qualify SNAP 2023 will be invited to participate in the selection process. Admission in colleges affiliated to SIU is taken through the SNAP selection process. The selection process of SIU is commonly known as GEPIWAT. These are different steps a candidate has to go through when seeking MBA admission at Symbiosis. First comes Group Exercise, and the college also conducts Written Ability Test and Personal Interaction. Results of all three are considered for final merit calculation. In order to get a seat in any one of the 15 participating institutes for SNAP 2023, the candidate will need to clear two steps i.e.

Step 1: Appear for SNAP 2023.

Step 2: Appear for the GEPIWAT round. Candidates scoring the minimum SNAP 2023 cut-off will be eligible for the selection process.

The SNAP selection process will begin soon after the SNAP results are announced. It is expected that selections will begin in the last week of January 2022 itself. Registration will be required for the GEPIWAT process as well. Candidates will have to fill the registration form for the selection rounds to be invited. Each of the selection rounds of SNAP 2023 has been explained in more detail below.

Group Exercise (GE)

  • It is a process of screening the candidates on the basis of their ability as well as their skills.

  • In this round, a topic allocated to a group of candidates to discuss among themselves for 15-20 minutes.

  • They are divided into groups and each group is given two case studies.

Personal Interaction (PI)

  • The objective of organizing a personal interview is to analyze the responses of a candidate, their interpersonal, soft skills, confidence, and thought clarity.

  • The interviewer can ask questions based on the details you filled in Annexure and other information based on the academic qualifications of the candidates.

Written Ability Test (WAT)

  • Written Ability Test is a pen and paper exam. It can also be called an Essay Writing Test. It is basically designed to test the knowledge of applicants and richness of content written by him.

SNAP 2023 Merit List

The SNAP Merit List is generated by SIU once all of the selection rounds have been conducted. The overall performance of a candidate in SNAP and GEPIWAT is considered when creating the final merit list. Different weightage is assigned to each parameter, which is used in calculating their final score. Based on the availability of seats, SIU releases the admission list of various colleges. Candidates are invited to finalise admission in the college. A waitlist is also released by the university. Candidates who names appear on the waitlist are given an offer of admission if a seat becomes available.
