CAT 2022 admit card has been released on the official website for admission to various MBA courses. Registered candidates can download it from iimcat.ac.in.

SJMSOM CAT 2022 Important Dates

SJMSOM offers admissions to its MBA courses based on the performance in CAT examination and previous academic records. The detailed eligibility criteria and selection process for the SJMSOM 2020-2021 session has been given for a better understanding of the admission process.

SJMSOM offers this executive MBA programme in collaboration with Washington University, USA.

It is essential to understand that apart from the entrance exam score, selection for either of the programmes is done on the basis of a candidate’s academic performance in 10^th Board exams, 12^th Board exams, Graduation and work experience of the candidate.

SJMSOM Executive MBA Application Process 2020-21

After passing CAT examination, students should apply online for the SJMSOM online application portal for admissions in Executive MBA course. The students will have to input their contact details, biodata and previous academic records etc and then submit the application form. After submitting the application form, the candidate has to pay the application fees using the online payment methods.

SJMSOM Executive MBA Selection Process 2020-21

SJMSOM’s two-phase selection process is given below:

During the selection procedure, each component is evaluated based on its weightage. SJMSOM has a predefined weightage for each of their components.

Components and their Weights:

SJMSOM has determined formulas for evaluating the weights of different components of candidates belonging to various categories. The evaluation process for students whose results are in percentage is different whereas for those who have results in CGPA format is different.

Here, A are the marks obtained in 10^th Board Exam; B are the marks obtained in 12^th Board Exam and C is the aggregate of undergraduate.

The students scoring most in the above-mentioned parameters will be included in the merit list which will be made as per the weightage. Students will then have to visit the institute for securing their admission by depositing the admission fees.

The eligibility criteria for SJMSOM mainly tallies with the eligibility criteria prescribed for the CAT examination. However, the institute has clearly mentioned its eligibility criteria for admissions in the MBA course in the 2020-21 session. The prescribed criteria are as follows,

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks (55% marks minimum if the candidate belongs to SC, ST or PWD category) or, for students who have a choice based credit system, a minimum CPI of 6.5 (6  if the candidate belongs to SC, ST or PWD category) out of 10 from the universities recognised by the University Grants Council (UGC)
• Applicants appearing for the final year of their respective bachelor’s degrees and those who have completed the studies but awaiting results can also apply. The candidate has to submit their mark sheet later. If he/she does not fulfil the above-mentioned marks criteria, the application will be rejected automatically.
• Students belonging from CA/ICWA background with any first-class Bachelor’s degree in any discipline are eligible to apply the marks of graduation will have to as per the first point.

SJMSOM MBA Application Process 2020-21

SJMSOM MBA Selection Process 2020-21

After the candidates have made their applications in the official portal, the SJMSOM institute will ask the candidates to appear for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) for MBA admissions 2020-21. The candidate will be selected in two phases, they are as followings,

Stage 1: Selection For WAT & PI

The first filtering of students for WAT and PI will be done on the basis of the CAT scores and previous academic performance. The prescribed cutoff of CAT is as followings, students complementing to the prescribed CAT Cutoff will only be held eligible for WAT & PI Rounds,

Except for the CAT Percentile, there are prescribed parameters of previous academic records. They receive different weights where the CAT scores receive the most weightage (80%), for the rest, weightage is as followings,

The candidates who score more in the above-mentioned parameters will have a high chance of being shortlisted for PI and WAT. The method of calculation the weights for different sectors are as follows,

A. CAT Performance

CAT score = (Candidate’s CAT scaled score/300) *80

B. 12th Marks

In the table below, ‘m’ is the mark obtained in 12th Grade

C. Graduation Marks

‘m’ is the marks scored in Graduation level

For Engineering, Basic Science and Commerce Discipline

For Professional Degree (CA, ICWA)

For Medicine and Arts Discipline

D. Gender Diversity

3% weightage will be awarded to Female Candidates

E. Post Graduate or Professionals

Of the total 5%, 2% weightage will be awarded to students who have completed their post-graduation.

F. Work Experience

For professionals. The work experience will be calculated as per the following table for granting the weightage, here, ‘m’ signifies the number of months of the candidate’s work experience.

The Final Merit List will be calculated after another weightage calculation including the WAT & PI Session, they are as followings,
