IIT Delhi Admission 2024 - Dates, Form, Online Process, Fees

IIT Delhi Admission 2024: CEED 2024 and UCEED 2024 results are declared on the official website for admission in the M.Des and design programmes. Students willing to get into UG engineering courses at IIT Delhi have to first take JEE Main, qualify it and then JEE Advanced 2024. IIT Delhi admission window will open for UG engineering courses with the release of JEE Advanced 2024 application form on April 27. B.Tech aspiring candidates can fill the JEE Advanced application form 2024 in online mode till May 7, 2024. The authorities will conduct JEE Advanced 2024 on May 26, 2024. Candidates can fill the JEE Advanced application form on the official website jeeadv.ac.in.      

IIT Delhi Admission Criteria 2024

The IIT Delhi admission criteria vary as per the course and specialisations. For B.Tech, the JEE Advanced scores are considered. For M.Tech, GATE exam scores are considered. The detailed eligibility criteria for various courses offered at IIT Delhi are mentioned below. 

• B.Tech – Candidates who want to secure admission in the B.Tech course at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi should have at least 75% aggregate in their 12th standard boards. JEE Mains and Advanced entrance exam is to be cleared by the candidates. The B.Tech course is for a period of 4 years.
• M.Tech - Candidates who want to secure admission in the M.Tech course at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi should have at least 60% aggregate in their bachelor`s course (BE or B.Tech). The GATE entrance exam is to be cleared by the candidates. The M.Tech course is for a period of 2 years.
• MBA - Candidates who want to secure admission in the MBA course at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi should have at least 60% aggregate in their bachelor`s course. The CAT entrance exam is to be cleared by the candidates. The MBA course is for a period of 2 years.
• M.Sc - M.Sc is one of the courses where IIT Delhi admission without JEE is possible. Candidates who want to secure admission in MSc course at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi should have at least 60% aggregate in their bachelor`s course. GATE or IIT JAM entrance exam is to be cleared by the candidates. The MSc course is for a period of 2 years.
• M.Des - Candidates who want to secure admission in the M.Des course at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi should have at least 60% aggregate in their bachelor`s course. No entrance exam is to be cleared by the candidates. M.Des course is for a period of 2 years.
• PhD - Candidates should have a master’s degree or equivalent in any discipline with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade point average recognized by AICTE /AIU with a Bachelor’s degree /equivalent qualification completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or a five-year integrated Master’s Degree Programme in any discipline with at least 60% marks. The GATE entrance exam is to be cleared by the candidates. PhD course is for a period of 3 years.

IIT Delhi Application Process 2024

Offline Application Form:

Candidates or students trying to seek admission at IIT Delhi can walk into the campus and head to the admission cell to get the admission form. They can also clear any of their doubts from the admission cell and then submit the form once they have filled in all the required data with relevant documents. While submitting the application form, a nominal fee of Rs 1000 must be paid. This amount can be paid via credit/debit card, UPI or cash.

Online Application:

Candidates can also visit the institute's official website and then fill in the application form in online mode. They would also be required to attach the relevant documents which are requested on the official site. Once the documents are attached candidate will have to pay a fee of Rs 1000. Upon completion of the process, the candidate would receive an e-mail confirming the same.

IIT Delhi Application Process 2024

The detailed instructions to fill the IIT Delhi application form are mentioned below.

Step 1: Visit the official website of the institute which is iitd.ac.in. 

Step 2: Click on “Admissions” to view various admission-related details. Click on “Apply Now” in this section.

Step 3: The registration page will open, click on “New User Register Here”. Fill out the registration form and create a password for future logins. 

Step 4: Fill the remaining details of the application form for IIT Delhi admission 2024. 

Step 5: Upload all documents like passport size photograph and signature in the asked format.

Step 6: Pay the application fee using a debit card, credit card, or net banking. 

IIT Delhi Counselling Process 2024

The counselling process is carried out once the candidate has been shortlisted for IIT Delhi admission to a particular course. The counselling centre is mostly at the institute itself which makes it easy for the candidate.

IIT Delhi B.Tech Selection Process 2024

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) conducts the counselling/selection process for IIT Delhi B.Tech admissions. The candidates must register for JoSAA counselling in June/ July. The candidates must exercise the options while registering for JoSAA and the seat allotment will be based on candidate’s rank in JEE Advanced, opening and closing ranks of IIT Delhi and availability of the seats in the course chosen by the candidates. JEE Advanced rank is the sole criterion for IIT Delhi B.Tech admissions.

The candidates must have passed B.Tech degree + GATE score is required for M.Tech admissions at IIT Delhi. 

IIT Delhi M.Tech Selection Process 2024

Firstly, IIT Delhi will determine the GATE cutoff to shortlist the candidates for admission to M.Tech admission. For some specializations in M.Tech, direct admission is granted as per the GATE cutoff of IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi conducts interviews for some M.Tech specializations, and the candidates must clear the interview for securing admission.

B.E./B. Tech./ M.Sc. or equivalent + GATE score is required for pursuing MS from IIT Delhi.

IIT Delhi M.S. Selection Process 2024

• The selection of candidates for MS will be based on his/ her score in GATE score, his/ her project proposal, past academic performance, and interview.

In order to be eligible for the MBA at IIT Delhi, candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline + CAT score. For IIT Delhi MBA seats, the CAT scores are considered for MBA and MBA Telecom. The result for CAT 2023 was announced by IIM Lucknow on December 21, 2023. The CAT scores will be applicable for IIT Delhi MBA admission. IIT Delhi prepares the CAT cutoff for shortlisting the candidates for MBA admission. The shortlisted candidates must participate in the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The final selection of the candidates will be based on his/ her overall performance in CAT, WAT, GD, and PI.

For pursuing M.Des from IIT Delhi, candidates need to pursue B.Tech/ B.Arch/ B.Des + CEED score is required. 

IIT Delhi M.Des Selection Process 2024

• The selection of candidates is purely based on his/ her performance in the CEED exam, and that is what determines the candidate's selection process.

For pursuing M.Sc from IIT Delhi, candidates need to have a B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) degree + IIT JAM score is also considered. 

IIT Delhi M.Sc Selection Process 2024

• IIT JAM score is the sole criterion for granting admission to eligible candidates at IIT Delhi for the M.Sc course. 

The candidates must have passed Class 12 in Science stream (PCM) + Rank in JEE Advanced in order to be eligible for IIT Delhi B.Tech+M.Tech courses.

IIT Delhi B.Tech + M.Tech Selection Process 2024

• The selection of candidates is purely based on the rank secured by the candidates in JEE Advanced exam. 
• JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) conducts the selection process for B.Tech courses offered by IIT Delhi.
