Mirza Mahmood Begg Memorial Scholarship

Three scholarships of the value of Rs. 1400 each are awarded annually to the undergraduates who secure the highest percentage of marks in the college at the final year University examination in

  • Humanities and Social Sciences stream including Psychology but excluding Mathematics,

  • Science stream including B.A. & B.Sc. (Hons.) courses in Mathematics, and

  •  Commerce stream

Sri Narain Nigam Memorial Scholarship

Three scholarships, for the following categories of students obtaining highest percentage of marks in the college at the second year University examination,

  • Rs. 700 for a visually handicapped student,

  • Rs. 1100 for Humanities and Social Sciences stream including Psychology and Commerce stream but excluding B.A. (Hons.) Mathematics, and

  • Rs. 1100 for Science stream including B.A./B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics

Ved Kumar Gupta Memorial Scholarship

One scholarship of the value of Rs. 1100 to a student securing highest percentage of marks in college at the second year B.A. (Hons.) University examination in Political Science.

Kumar Shubham Memorial Scholarship

Four scholarships for the following categories of II year students who obtain highest percentage of marks in the following courses.;

  • Rs. 700 for a student in B.A. (Hons.) Psychology

  • Rs. 350 for a student in Humanities & Social Sciences stream excluding psychology and B.A. (Hons.) Mathematics.

  • Rs. 350 for a student in Science stream including B.A./B.Sc. (Hons.) courses in Mathematics and

  • Rs. 350 for a Commerce Student.

All India Entrance Scholarships

The University of Delhi conducts a competitive examination in the month of October for awarding scholarships of the value of Rs. 250 per month for three years. The first year students admitted to Bachelor with Honours Courses may appear for this examination. They may contact examination Branch VII, University of Delhi, on any working day between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. after 1st August.

The students who have been selected for different programmes will be able to avail different scholarship schemes offered by Zakir Husain Delhi College. Zakir Husain Scholarship schemes are offered to the meritorious as well as the needy students of the college. There are thirteen different scholarships schemes of Zakir Husain Delhi College that the students can avail during their academic stay at the college. Mirza Mahmood Beg Memorial Scholarships

The college provides three scholarships every year, each valued at ?1,400 to the meritorious UG students who have achieved the highest percentage in the end-semester examinations conducted by the University in the stream of science, commerce and Humanities & Social Sciences.

Sri Narain Nigam Memorial Scholarship

This Scholarship Scheme is provided to the meritorious students who have been able to achieve the highest scores in the second year end-term examinations of the University. The students who are visually handicapped are provided with ?700. Meanwhile, the students of all Science, Commerce and Arts stream are provided with ?1,100 as scholarship.

Ved Kumar Gupta Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is given to the student from BA (Hons) Political science who has been able to achieve the highest percentage in the second year University Examination. The student will receive ?1,100 as scholarship award.

Kumar Shubham Memorial Scholarship

  • The college awards four scholarships under the name to the 2nd year student who has achieved the highest score in different courses
  • A student who has achieved the highest score in BA (Hons) Psychology will receive ?700
  • A student from Humanities and Social Sciences programmes excluding BA (Hons) Psychology and Mathematics will be awarded ?350
  • Commerce Stream Student will receive ?350
  •  

All India Scholarships

A competitive examination is conducted by the University of Delhi in the month of October. The students who clear the examination will receive ?250 every month for the next three years. The examination is open to the first year students of the undergraduate Honours courses only. 

Mrs Harjinder Grover Memorial Award

The scholarship award is presented to the top scoring 4th semester students of B.Sc (Hons) Botany and B.Sc Life Sciences with an award of ?500 each.

Gopa Dey Memorial Award

The students from the Bengali Department are awarded a scholarship of ?1,500, ?1,000 and ?500 for the first, second and third position that have been secured in the BA (Hons) Bengali programme. The department also awards a student from BA (Hons) Bengali who has displayed exceptional performance in Sports or Cultural Activities of the college, with a scholarship award of ?1,000. 

Financial Grants

Zakir Husain Delhi College provides needy students with financial grants that will help them to pursue the programme of their without worrying about the financial burden of pursuing their dreams. Here are the financial grants that are available to the students of Zakir Husain Delhi College.

Vidya Devi Education Fund

In the year 2015, a fund of ?5,51,000 had been deposited for the benefit of the students belonging to the economically weaker sections at Zakir Husain Delhi College. As per the agreement, 60% of the interest that is accumulated on that amount is donated to the payment of the admission fees of the Commerce students from the 3rd Semester onwards. Meanwhile, the rest 40% of the accumulated interest is directed towards EWS students from any discipline for the purpose of payment of books. 

Fee Concessions

Zakir Husain Delhi College provides the students with the option of fee concessions where the student who is meritorious and needy will be able to avail the opportunity. The students belonging to the SC, ST, OBC or PWD students, etc, will be able to avail this facility for the academic year from February. There will be no fee concession at the time of admission. The candidates will have to pay the full admission fee for the first year.

Staff Association of Student Welfare Fund

The fund has been put in place so as to provide the students of the second and the third year of their programme with financial assistance. The students will be provided with financial assistance on the basis of merit-cum-basis.
