IIT Delhi is known for its outstanding placement record. Top companies across the globe recruit IIT Delhi graduates. Usually, the placement process for final-year students of IIT Delhi begins in December. The first phase placements start in the first week of December, and 70% of students secure jobs during this phase. The placement process continues until March/ April, and the candidates can choose the best offer. IIT Delhi offers flexibility to students to accept multiple offers so that they choose the best among the offers available.
Some of the top companies that visit the campus of IIT Delhi are Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Infosys, etc. The highest package offered to students at IIT Delhi placements goes up to Rs. 1 crore per annum. IIT Delhi always aims for 100% placements.
Apart from the placements for final-year students, IIT Delhi encourages first, second and third-year students to pursue an internship in various companies. Some of the top companies across the globe offer internship opportunities to students. Through internship opportunities, students get a chance to attain work experience and exposure. Students will get a chance to put their knowledge into practice through internships.
Within the first five days of the placement process at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, which began its processes from 1st December 2019, saw over 960 different offers made to the students. Some of the students have received more than one offer from different companies, which have added to the 960 unique offers at IIT Delhi Placements 2019-20.
On the first day of the Phase-1 of the IIT Delhi Placements 2019-20, the institute witnessed almost 420 offers made to students in different sectors. Among the offers made on the first day of the 2020 placement session, 175 were pre-placement offers or PPOs. At the end of the first 5 days of the placement session, the number of offers jumped to a massive 960 offers, both nationally and internationally. Among these offers, there had been 187 PPOs that had been made to the students as well. Students have been offered a variety of job profiles such as Analytics, Consulting, Core, Finance, Information Technology along with Research and Teaching.

Core and IT Sectors have been the major sectors where students have received the most offers, with 28% and 26% offers respectively. The other major sectors include;

While the rest of the 13% of offers had been made in other sectors. Many IIT Delhi students also opted out of the 2020 placement session and chose to work on their start-ups.

This year, IIT Delhi is expected to witness job offers being made on over 600 different profiles, in different sectors. The placement report of the first day in the Phase-1 of the IIT Delhi Placements for 2020 batch has so far reached the expectations of the institute. Statements from IIT Delhi have declared that this year, the students have been more attracted towards selecting domestic job offers over international offers. Moreover, many of the students have selected the core sectors in the field of engineering, which is higher as compared to previous years.
IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements for the academic session 2018-19 has concluded. At the end of Phase 1 placements of IIT Delhi, 900 job offers were made to students (including PPOs). Compared to the previous year, there has been a 22% increase in the number of participating companies.
IIT Delhi placements 2018-19 began on December 01, 2018. The first phase of IIT Delhi placements 2018-19 began with a bang, as 225 students bagged jobs from reputed companies on Day 1. Compared to the previous placement season, there was a 10% rise in the number of jobs secured by students on the first day of placements.
Intel dominated the first-day placements with a maximum number of domestic offers while Samsung (South Korea) offered a maximum number of international pre-placement offers.
On Day 1 of IIT Delhi Placements 2018-19, international offers were made to 25 students by reputed companies from Japan, Singapore and the US. Microsoft Redmond (US) and SquarePoint Capital (Singapore) made a maximum number of offers.
So far, 350 companies have given their nod to recruit IIT Delhi students. Over 160 PPOs were offered to students on Day 1, and 85 students accepted the PPOs so far. According to sources, many students did not accept international offers and gave preference to domestic job offers made by Intel.
This year, there was also an increase in the number of companies registered to hire students for core engineering profiles. Similarly, many companies lined up to hire students for roles in emerging areas such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science and predictive analysis.

The Phase 2 placements of IIT Delhi will begin in January 2019. Already, 150 companies have given their nod for visiting the campus.

IIT Delhi Placements process began on December 1, 2017 and so far more than 500 students were placed out of which 25 were International offers. Firms from all around the world participated in the campus drive.The maximum number of international offers was offered by Microsoft, 6 offers. Microsoft also offered the highest package of Rs. 1.4 crore. The overall placements of IIT Delhi for the year 2017 increased by 10% compared to the placements of 2016. whereas the total placement for PG students increased by 17% compared to 2016.

The first phase of placements, that began on December 1, 2017, will be completed by December 15, 2017. The second phase is expected to begin in January 2018. The major recruiting firm has shown a keen interest in recruiting students of IIT Delhi.
IIT Delhi placement for 2016 saw a 20% growth in core jobs offered at the institute.
175 companies participating in order to recruit top talent from IIT Delhi. Out of 175 companies, 44 of them belonged from the PSU sector. More than 1000 students got placed with good offers. Coal India was the largest recruiter among the PSUs who recruited 26 students. IIT KGP got 24 international offers from prominent companies such as Microsoft, Sprinklr, Oracle and Delta Electronics.
