TANCET 2020 Counselling Process

The TANCET 2020 counselling schedule for admission into MBA and MCA courses will be released by the Directorate of Technical Education and Directorate of Collegiate Education, Tamil Nadu. The counselling for MBA will begin in the month of August (expected) while for MCA admissions counselling will begin in the month of August as well. The TANCET 2020 counselling process will be started by Anna University for the aspirants of courses like ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan, MCA & MBA. TANCET 2020 will be conducted in the month of February 2020 and TANCET 2020 result will be declared in the month of March 2020. Candidates who will successfully qualify TANCET 2020 can apply for the counselling session through online mode.

For this, candidates must visit the official website of Anna University to fill in the application form for the counselling process and send the correct and asked document along with the Demand Draft to the specified address mentioned by the examination conducting a body of TANCET 2020.

Highlights of the TANCET 2020 Counselling Process

  • Counseling will be held at Anna University, Chennai.

  • Candidates should attend the counselling with all the original certificates.

  • TANCET Counselling Fee: Rs 5,300 (Rs 1,150/- for SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) Payment Mode: DD or Cash, inclusive of a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs 300 (Rs 150/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu.

  • Candidates who are GATE qualified can participate directly in TANCET 2020 Counselling.

Note: The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary, TANCA, Anna University” payable at Chennai.

Detailed TANCET 2020 Counselling Process

Online Registration to Participate in the Counselling

  • If the candidates are eligible to participate in the counselling, then they must register online only. No other mode is available for the registration. They must register before the last date. A log-in account will be created on successful completion of the registration.

Note – There is a common application form for taking admission in Government, Government Aided Engineering and Arts & Science Colleges and for the seats in University Departments/Regional Centres, seats surrendered by the Self-Financing Engineering Colleges, Arts & Science Colleges including Stand Alone Institutions under the Unified Single Window Admission System for Indian Nationals.

  • Candidates need to send the respective attachments and authorisation to the printout of the online submission application with DD.
  • Candidates should only use an A4 Size cover and duly affix the printed copy of address label on it.

Online Choice Filling:

  • Now, the candidates will be allowed to exercise their choices of the college & course online. Candidates can select as many choices as they like from the list of seats that are available, in the order of their preference.

Reporting at the nodal centre for document verification:

  • After that, candidates will have to complete their registration process and choice filling and report to one of the designated Nodal Centers for the verification of their documents and payment of the Counselling & University registration fee and the locking of their final choices. Post verification of the documents, candidates should have locked their final choices at the designated nodal center.

Seat Allotment at TANCET Participating Institutes

  • According to the choices submitted by candidates, seats will be allotted in order of their rank. The seat allotment result will be declared online and will be published on the official website of Anna University.

  • In case, a candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat, they can wait for the next round of the TANCET 2020 Counselling. But if the candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat, then they should pay the amount for securing the seat allotment.

Reporting to the Allocated College:

  • Candidate should download their final allotment letters and report to the allotted institute as per the schedule. Candidate should pay the academic fee and join the programme.

Candidate should attach self-attested copies of the following documents with the application

  • Two mark sheet of class 10th & 12th
  • Printed online application form

  • Original TANCET MBA/MCA/M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan 2019 Rank card
  • Permanent Community Certificate Card for BCM, BC, MBC & DNC, ST, SC and SCA (Permanent card / electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate)

  • Online registration slip
  • Transfer Certificate

  • TANCET 2020 Hall Ticket/Admit card

  • Nativity certificate
  • Original SC/ST certificate (in case of SC/ST candidates)
  • Certificate from District Medical Board for Differently Abled candidates (if Applicable).
  • Self-addressed stamped envelope for counselling call letter
  • Self-addressed stamped acknowledgment card
  • Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee certificate (If applicable)

  • Original Demand Draft of Rs.300/- drawn in favour of "The Secretary, TN MBA / MCA Admissions - 2020, GCT" payable at Coimbatore, dated not earlier than 14th July 2019.
