B.Tech Management Quota Admission – The demand for some of the popular specializations in B.Tech has always been increasing. The competition for such specializations is high, and not all the students may get admission in top private engineering colleges with a valid score in the entrance exam. In such cases, one of the options for such students is management quota admission. One of the major advantages of opting management quota is that a student can get admission in the desired college. Engineering colleges in India have been divided into government and private colleges (including deemed universities). Every state conducts its own entrance exam or counselling process for B.Tech admission. The engineering seats in every private college in different states are divided into state quota and management quota. While the state government fills the seats for state quota, private colleges can fill the seats that fall under management quota. Only a limited percentage of seats will be available under management quota.

Each private engineering college in the above state reserve seats under management quota as per the percentage specified above.
Private engineering colleges will start the admission process for management quota seats as and when the state quota counselling begins in the respective state. For the year 2020, the management quota admission in B.Tech courses will take place in August, September and October 2020.
Private engineering colleges in various states follow the eligibility criteria specified by the state government & AICTE for B.Tech management quota admission. The eligibility rules for the management quota admission are as follows –
Eligibility Rule 1
The candidates must have passed Class 12th with a minimum of 45% to 50% of marks.
Eligibility Rule 2
Candidates who are waiting for Supplementary results of Class 12th can also apply for admission. However, the admission will be granted only after the candidates submit Class 12th pass certificate.
Eligibility Rule 3
The candidates must have all the documents specified by the college to get admission in B.Tech.
Eligibility Rule 4
Students from different states can apply for B..Tech management quota admission in any state across the country.
Candidates aspiring for management quota admission in B.Tech will have to either fill the online application form through the official website of the college or directly visit the college for obtaining application form. The candidates will have to obtain prospects and application form by paying the prescribed application fee. It is mandatory to affix the photograph on the application form. After filling the form, the candidates will have to submit it at the designated counter in the college with all required documents.
The candidates will have to submit the following documents along with application form for B.Tech management quota admission –
Class 12th Certificate/ Mark Sheet
Class 10th Certificate or Mark Sheet
Transfer Certificate (TC)
Entrance Test Score/ Rank Card (if taken and available – Not Mandatory)
Private colleges follow different rules to select candidates for admission in management quota. Some colleges grant admission on the first-come-first-serve basis, while some colleges release a separate merit list to shortlist the candidates. If the competition is high for management quota admission, the colleges will come up with a merit list option. The admission process under management quota is simple and hassle-free as admission will be confirmed after the submission of application form and verification of documents.
The Fee Fixation Committee or state government shall fix the fee for B.Tech management quota admission. The fee for management quota will be 1 to 2times higher than the state quota fee. The average fee for B.Tech management quota ranges between Rs. 60,000 to 80,000 per annum, while the highest fee may go up to Rs. 1,00,000 to Rs. 1,50,000 per annum.
