Gujarat BTech Admissions 2024

Gujarat BTech Admissions 2024 - The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat grants admission to eligible candidates into B.Tech and B.E. programmes based on their eligibility. Gujarat BTech admissions 2024 is being conducted through the GUJCET 2024 counselling process. Every year, this admission process is conducted at the state level. After completing the counselling and seat allotment process, admission will be provided to the candidates in the different State quota seats of Govt. Grant-in-aid & Self-Finance Engineering Institutes, as well as surrendered seats of Management Quota of Self-Finance Engineering Institutes. The applicants will be enrolled in various colleges in Gujarat State for B.Tech and B.E programs in various subjects.

GUJCET 2024 result will tentatively be released in the first week of May 2024. Following that, the counselling process for Gujarat BTech admissions 2024 will be started. BTech aspirants of Gujarat must note that clearing the entrance test is mandatory to secure B.Tech admission in Gujarat. 5% of seats in all engineering colleges across the state are applicable for students who apply under the Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) scheme. In all, there is an adequate number of options for engineering aspirants in terms of the number of engineering colleges across the state.

Entrance Exams Accepted by Gujarat Engineering Colleges 2024

GUJCET (Gujarat Common Entrance Test) is an entrance exam conducted by the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Education for admission to professional courses. B. Tech aspirants of Gujarat must clear the GUJCET exam to secure admission in Gujarat engineering colleges. Class 12 students can appear for GUJCET for B.Tech admission. Students aspiring for B.Tech admission under the state quota of Gujarat must clear GUJCET.

Private engineering colleges in Gujarat reserve 5% of seats for other state students, and these students must have a valid JEE Main score to secure admission. These students can only seek admission under the management quota of private engineering colleges.

The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) Gujarat is responsible for conducting the Gujarat B.Tech admission process. Gujarat is one of the popular states for pursuing a B.Tech/ B.E, and numerous engineering colleges offer different specializations in UG engineering courses. Students from other states can also pursue B.Tech in Gujarat private engineering colleges, and a specific percentage of seats are reserved for such students. ACPC has the authority to fill 100% of seats in Government Engineering Colleges and 50% of seats in Private Engineering Colleges across the state. Admissions for B.Tech courses in Gujarat are completely based on the merit of the candidates. Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Admission in Gujarat 2024

For Gujarat B.Tech admissions, the candidates must satisfy the below eligibility criteria to seek admission –

Domicile Rule

  • Students who have completed their schooling in Gujarat schools (Gujarat Board/ CBSE/ ICSE or any other equivalent board are eligible for B.Tech admissions in Gujarat. These students can compete for state quota or concession quota admissions. TFW scheme is also applicable to only these students.
  • Students whose parents are serving in the Gujarat government are also eligible for B.Tech admissions in Gujarat.
  • As per the above rules, Gujarat domicile students must clear GUJCET for B.Tech admission in Gujarat.
  • Students from other states are eligible for B.Tech admission in Gujarat with a valid JEE Main score. These students can apply through the management quota of private engineering colleges.
  • Students from Union Territories such as Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli are also eligible for Gujarat B.Tech admissions under the state quota.
  • Students who have completed Class 12 through NIOS from a study centre located in Gujarat can also apply for Gujarat B.Tech admission.

Academic Requirements

  • B.Tech aspirants of Gujarat must note that Class 12 with subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry is the minimum qualification required for B.Tech admission in Gujarat.
  • The applicants must have a minimum of 45% of marks in Class 12 to secure admission.

Gujarat Engineering (B.Tech/ B.E) Admission and Selection Procedure 2024

Gujarat B.Tech/ B.E admission process is completely online, and the admission committee for professional courses is responsible for conducting the admission process for engineering courses in Gujarat. The admission procedure for B.Tech courses in Gujarat involves the following stages –

Merit Preparation: The admission authority prepares a merit list of candidates who have submitted an online application form for the Gujarat B.Tech counselling process. The merit list is prepared as follows –

  1. While preparing the GUJCET merit list, 60% weightage will be applied to the percentile scored by candidates in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects of Class 12

  2. Secondly, 40% of weightage will be applied to the percentile scored by candidates in the GUJCET exam

  3. By considering the above factors, the admission authority prepares a Common Merit List for Gujarat B.Tech admissions

Tie-Breaking Norms: If two or more candidates score equal or similar merit marks, the percentage scored by candidates in the following qualifying exams shall be considered for tie-breaking. The tie-break rules apply to the following exams in sequential order –

  • Physics and Mathematics subjects of Class 12

  • Chemistry and Mathematics subjects of Class 12

  • Physics and Chemistry

  • Mathematics

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • English

  • Aggregate Marks in Class 12

Finally, the admission committee comes up with the Gujarat B.Tech admission merit list that includes the name of candidates who are eligible for the Gujarat B.Tech counselling process. Candidates who are featured in the merit list of GUJCET must take part in the counselling process.

Gujarat B Tech Counselling Process 2024

GUJCET score is mandatory to participate in the B.Tech counselling procedure. Gujarat B.Tech counselling process is conducted in online mode by Admission Committee for professional courses. The B.Tech counselling process of Gujarat comprises different stages. Check the details below –

Step 1: Get the Information Booklet and the PIN Code
Before filling up and submitting their application form, applicants must first get the Information Booklet and PIN. Without the PIN, candidates will be unable to continue with the counselling process.

Step 2: Completing the Application Form
After purchasing the PIN, applicants will be allowed to register for the GUJCET 2024 counselling procedure. To create a new User ID, candidates must complete the counselling process application form with all of their academic, personal, and contact information, as well as their GUJCET roll number. Before clicking on the submit button to submit the application form, applicants must first read the terms and conditions/declaration. 

Step 3: Submit a report to the Help Centers
Candidates must go to the Help Centres with a printout of the completed application form and other required papers for verification. For the same, both the original and copies of the papers must be supplied. After the verification is completed, the candidates will be handed a registration slip with their signature and seal by the appropriate authorities.

Step 4: Filling and Freeing Options
After checking on the official website with their valid User ID, password, and PIN, candidates must select from a list of courses and Institutes. Candidates will have two options for filling out the form and changing their choices. 

Step 5: Seat Allocation
Candidates can check the online seat allotment results via the official GUJCET website. Candidates must log in using their credentials such as User ID, Password, and PIN to view the seat allotment outcome. Candidates who are satisfied with their seat allotment must click the "Freeze" option, after which they will be unable to participate in further rounds of the GUJCET 2023 counselling procedure. To accept the given seat, candidates must first download the information letter and bank fee challan, which will include tuition fee information. 

Step 6: Attend the Allotted Institute.
Candidates who are satisfied with their assigned seats must report to the Institute where they have been assigned a seat. Candidates must report to their assigned Institute with all required papers such as payment receipts, admission slips, information letters, and their copies for verification.

Gujarat B Tech Seat Allotment Process 2024

To enable the candidates to give an idea of GUJCET 2024 Seat Allotment, ACPC releases the mock allotment so that students can modify their choices as per the requirement. The stages involved in the Gujarat B.Tech seat allotment process are given below.

Mock Allotment: Mock round/ allotment is a trial procedure to have an awareness of choice filling procedure and seat allotment procedure. The mock allotment will also help the candidates to know the availability of the institute or course as per his/ her merit. The candidates can check the mock allotment on the official website. Now, the candidates can fill in the actual choices or modify the existing choices for the final allotment.

Final Allotment: There is no guarantee that the mock allotment results and final allotment results will be the same. ACPC has released round 2 seat allotment results on the official website. Candidates must log in and check the seat allotment. Students who have been allotted seats and want to accept the seat with/ without an upgrade need to confirm their admission by paying the fees. All such candidates have to download the admission slip from the candidate login and pay the required fees.

Admission Confirmation: If the candidate gets a seat, he/ she must download the Information Letter and Bank Challan to deposit the tuition fees. The candidates must visit the designated bank to deposit the tuition fee for the first-year B.Tech course. The candidates can also pay the fees online mode by using a credit card/ debit card or internet banking. After fee payment, the candidates must take the printout of the admission slip.

The candidates who get seats against their priority can decline the seat allotment and take part in the next round of the admission process.

Reporting to College: After admission confirmation, the candidates must visit the respective college with all the relevant documents.

Gujarat B Tech Admission Reservation Policy 2024

The reservation policies of the state government for certain categories of students apply to Gujarat BTech admissions 2023. 50% of B.Tech seats available under the state quota are reserved for the general category while the rest of the seats are reserved for different categories that come under reservation policies of the state government.

Documents Required for B Tech Admission in Gujarat 2024

The candidates must produce the following documents at the time of admission –

  1. Class 10 &12 Certificate

  2. GUJCET Mark Sheet

  3. TC (Transfer Certificate)

  4. Passport Size Photographs ( at least 4)

  5. Caste Certificate (if required)

  6. Income Certificate (if required)

  7. Domicile Certificate (if required)

  8. Printout of Registration Form (the counselling registration form)

Gujarat BTech Admission 2024: Selection Criteria

GUJCET 2024 candidates will be selected only after they match the following criteria: 

  • 60% weightage will be applied to percentile scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects of Class 12
  • 40% weightage will be applied to percentile scores in the GUJCET 2024 exam

By considering the above factors, the admission authority prepares a Common Merit List for Gujarat BTech admissions.

Thanks for contacting Collegedkeho Q & A portal. I want to inform you that  Sharda University does not offer any Diploma course for mechanical engineering. It only offers two Diploma courses: Diploma in Clinical Medical Practises from Allied Health Science and Pharmacy and a Diploma in Pharmacy from the Pharmacy sector. 

Though University also offers below mentioned courses in the Mechanical Engineering branch. Students who will enrol for the B.Tech course need to pay around 1.9 L per annum.
