About Master of Planning (M.Plan)

Master of Planning is a two-year postgraduate programme which has specialization in courses like infrastructure, city, housing, transportation, environmental, regional and urban planning. Master of Planning provides a thorough understanding of environmental, sociological and economic knowledge with a strong focus on sustainable urban development.

In the M.Plan study, students learn a great deal about the methods to balance public and private interests in urban development. With a practical and engaged approach, this programme focuses on urban development and planning processes, urban design and environmental policy, property development, enhances skills and knowledge in urban management and creative and sustainability development control.

Master of Planning (M.Plan) Eligibility Criteria

  • Students with a 50% aggregate in their B.Planning degree study are eligible to apply for M.Planning
  • B.Arch, B.Tech and B.E in Architecture/Planning/Civil Engineering with an aggregate of 55% are also eligible to apply for M.Plan
  • The applicants should also have qualified 10+2 exam from a recognised Board with a minimum of 50% aggregate in the relevant subjects

Master of Planning (M.Plan) Admission Process

For admission into the Master of Planning programme offered by various reputed Universities or Institutions in India, the candidates have to have a valid GATE score. However, there are some institutions which conduct their own entrance test for admission into M.Planning programme. The final selection of the candidates is done on the basis of cumulative scores - entrance exam, counselling, personal interview scores.
