Geoinformatics is one of the emerging fields in India, as this field leads to the development of technology and services that touch our everyday life. The total duration of the course is 2 years, which is divided into four semesters. One of the major advantages of Geoinformatics course at M.Tech level is that students from any branch of B.Tech can seek admission apart from graduates of certain M.Sc specializations. Minimum Aggregate Required
In order to be eligible for the entrance exam or admission process, the candidates must have a minimum of 50% of marks in Bachelor’s degree/ relevant qualification.
The admission process varies from one institute to another. Most of the institutes accept direct admission while GATE score is mandatory in some institutes.
INR 3 to 6 LPA
The candidates who wish to pursue a degree in M.Tech Geoinformatics must fulfil certain eligibility criteria to be eligible for the entrance exam/ admission process. Admission Process through GATE
Many of the institutes, including reputed NITs, IITs, and IIITs, offer admission on the basis of GATE score. The candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria will have to apply for the GATE entrance exam. If they qualify the test, the candidates will have to participate in GATE COAP/ CCMT counselling process through which the admission will be provided.
Admission Process through State-Level Entrance Exams
The admission to M.Tech is also provided on the basis of score obtained in the state level entrance test (if there is no GATE score). The candidates will be provided admission through the counselling on the basis of rank obtained in the entrance test.
Some of the private colleges offer direct admission in M.Tech Geoinformatics. The admission will be provided on the basis of merit obtained by the candidate in the qualifying degree.
