However, you must meet the standard eligibility criteria before taking admission. Firstly, you must have qualified your 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or an equivalent vocational programme. Secondly, you must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in English in the 10th or 12th Class. Dear Student,

You can pursue Mechanical Engineering after 12th by taking admission to a Polytechnic or ITI course. However, there may be some specific eligibility requirements you need to meet to get into these courses. For example, you must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects during your 10+2 education. To pursue ITI/ Certificate course after 12th grade, you may have to appear in a written examination to get admission to the top ITI colleges in India. After completing the ITI, you usually need a Certificate III or Certificate IV, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering to work as a Mechanical Engineer Draughtsman.

If you wish to pursue a Diploma or Polytechnic in Mechanical Engineering, you may have to appear in state-level polytechnic entrance exams. However, many states also allow admissions based on 10+2 scores only. Alternatively, you can also pursue a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering via JEE Mains and other national-level exams to gain admission to some of the best engineering colleges across India.

We request you to share more information such as your 10+2 subjects and location so that we can assist you better and suggest good Mechanical Engineering colleges.

Good luck!
