ITI Footwear Maker is one of the popular trade in ITI for both boys and girls. Footwear Maker trade under Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) is delivered nationwide through a network of private and government ITIs. The course duration is one year (2 semesters). It mainly consists of the domain area and core area. The domain area (Trade Theory & Practical) imparts professional skills and knowledge, while the core area (employability skill) imparts requisite core skills, knowledge, and life skills. 

After passing the training program, the trainee is awarded National Trade Certificate (NTC) by NCVT which is recognized worldwide. The Directorate General of Training (DGT) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship offers a wide range of ITI Footwear Maker vocational training courses catering to the need of various sectors of the economy/labour market. The vocational training programs are delivered under the guidance of the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT).
