About ITI Fruit and Vegetable Processor Course

ITI Fruit and Vegetable Processor is a one-year vocational course in fruit/food preserving. The course is divided into two semesters of six months each. In this course, the candidates are introduced to topics related to food and fruits such as how to feed fruits and vegetables into the machine, how to store, how to receive and check raw materials, the operating and processing system, packing and dispatching the products, how to take samples, store them and then how to prepare and sort fruit and vegetables for processing. The candidates are taught how to handle, prepare cooking and send for processing. The candidates have to learn the machinery operations for chemical treatment, size grading, crushing, mixing, freezing, extracting juice; operating machinery for meal and feed, blending flour, sterilising equipment, and keeping the working area clean. The candidates are also introduced to work in a safe environment by taking precautions and safety measures during practical work.  ITI Fruit and Vegetable Processor is a job-oriented course that offers many jobs in the field of food processing sectors agricultural-based industries.

ITI Fruit and Vegetable Processor Course is approved by National Council Vocational Training (NCVT). ITI Fruit and Vegetable Processor Course Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the course:

  • The 10th pass candidates can apply for the course.
  • The candidate must have passed from a recognised board.
  • Science and maths are compulsory subjects in the ITI Fruit and Vegetable Processor course.
  • 12th pass candidates can also join for this course.
  • The age should be minimum of 15 years before applying for the course.

The admission process differs from institute to institute. But yes there are basically three types of admission process – direct/merit/entrance. The candidate must know the admission process for applying in ITI Fruit and Vegetable Processor Course.

The majority of the private ITI institute take direct admission into ITI courses. The candidates can directly apply and get admission but they won’t get any benefits of scholarship as they don't have to give the entrance exam.
 

 

There are almost 30% seats reserved for the merit-based candidates and also for quota category seats for SC/ST/OBC/Defence service/Single girl child/EWS/BPL/Kashmiri migrants candidates. The respective institute release the merit list based on the score in the 10th examination.

The admission in this process depends on your results in the entrance examination. It is a national-level entrance examination. The candidates get a 100% scholarship through this exam. 70% of seats are reserved for the candidates who clear AIE CET in colleges like ITI West Kameng.
