MSc admissions are granted in two ways: merit-based or through an entrance exam. Whereas, the merit-based MSc admission to the course is done directly on the basis of the candidate's qualifying examination score. • IIT JAM (Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test)- The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), which are a part of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), alternately administer the Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM). • IAT (IISER Aptitude Test)- IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) is conducted as a computer based test in centres across India. IAT consists of 60 questions, 15 questions each from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
