Master of Fashion Management is a two-year-long postgraduate course. The aim of the course is to groom the students in the domain of fashion management. The prime objective of M.F.M. is to inculcate the managerial and the leadership skills in order to prepare them for the highly competitive world. Through the M.F.M. course, students are prepared in the field of marketing, retailing, merchandising, supply chain management and garment exports so that they develop the skills required after entering the industry. By pursuing MFM, an individual becomes familiar with the norms and language of the fashion industry.
The course mainly focuses on building smart research projects, growing an analytical approach, developing financially stable and creative strategies for they help in shaping up the future of the aspirants.

A candidate aspiring to pursue M.F.M. needs to fulfil the criteria set up by the colleges/institutions. If he/she is unable to satisfy the conditions set up by the university, his candidature is considered invalid and he/she is not eligible for the further admission process. Listed below are the minimum eligibility criteria for MFM that an applicant is required to meet before applying for admission to the chosen college.
A candidate must have passed an undergraduate degree or its equivalent degree from any stream.
The aspirant must possess an undergraduate degree or its equivalent from a recognised college/university.
Note- The eligibility criteria of the M.F.M. vary from college to college. For pursuing M.F.M. from NIFT the candidate is required to have a UG Diploma of a minimum of 3 Years duration from NID/NIFT.
If a candidate is eligible to apply for the M.F.M. programme, he/she has to go through a selection process set up by the respective institutes. Enlisted below are the parameters that help in enrolling the students to the course of Master of Fashion Management.
Entrance Examination- Several colleges conduct an entrance exam in order to enrol students for admission to the M.F.M. course. The entrance exam is different for each college. Colleges tend to organise a written admission test. They might also conduct group discussion or personal interview depending on the selection process followed by the institute.
Final Selection- The aptitude of the candidates is measured through both, the written as well as the Personal Interview/Group Discussion. The final selection of the candidate is done keeping in view his/her performance in all the stages of selection.
