About M.Sc - Information Technology (IT)

M.Sc. Information Technology (IT) focuses on making a student technically competent in the theory of Information Technology, its application and research related aspects. The programme aims to make students eligible for IT Industry as well as research programmes.

M.Sc. IT programmes are designed to impart theoretical as well as application knowledge to the students and prepare them for research in the field. Although most of the concepts and subjects are similar to most computer courses, however, some subjects are different. Students are also expected to submit a thesis and project at the end of the programme.

Candidates who have completed their graduation from a recognised university or institution in a related subject with a minimum overall aggregate of 50% or more are eligible to apply for the M.Sc information technology admission at various reputed universities/institutions.

Those institutes which accept entrance exams scores like the scores of TANCET, DUET, TISSNET etc accept the admission application of only those candidates who have secured a valid rank in either of the M.Sc IT entrance exams. Based on the entrance exam scores, a merit list is prepared and the counselling process is conducted before the final allocation of seats.
