About Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Bachelor of Business Administration, popularly referred to as the BBA course is a three-year degree course that provides theoretical and practical knowledge to an aspirant in the fields of commerce, business and administration. It helps them develop their business acumen and entrepreneurial insights so that they can become effective leaders and managers in future. Good communication skills, interest in problem-solving and an inclination towards teamwork and time management are some of the traits that can help a student during the BBA course.

Apart from a general BBA degree course, a lot of commerce/management colleges in India offer BBA with a specialization option such as BBA (Human Resources), BBA (Banking & Insurance), BBA (Information Technology) etc.

A regular BBA degree course can cost a candidate anywhere between Rs. 25,000 - Rs. 5 lakh depending on the college/university he/she enrolls into.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Eligiblity Criteria

  • Minimum Marks Required: 10+2
  • Minimum Marks Required: 50% to 60%, varies from college to college.
  • Age Limit: The age limit for general category is 22 years and for reserved category is 24 years.

BBA Admission Process

While many colleges offer admission to BBA courses on the basis of a candidate’s merit, a majority of BBA colleges in India grant admission to a candidate basis their performance and score in the BBA entrance tests.

Universities that offer BBA courses also conduct their own BBA entrance examination to screen candidates for admissions. Some of the popular BBA entrance exams include the following:

  • Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test for BBA, popularly known as the GGSIPU CET (BBA)
  • Delhi University Joint Admission Test (DU-JAT)
  • Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) - BBA

Once the BBA entrance exam results are announced, a BBA cut-off list and BBA rank list is prepared by each of the conducting body. Those who qualify in the test are then required to appear for counselling process wherein they are allotted colleges and specializations basis their score/rank.

*Please note that if you are applying for a distance learning BBA or online BBA or part-time BBA, you may not be required to appear for an entrance exam in that case.
