About Bachelor of Design (B.Des)

Bachelor of Design (B.Des) is a full-time four-year degree course (spread across eight semesters) that is offered by many top design institutes in India. However, there a few selected design colleges in India that offer B.Des as a five-year course as well.

Candidates willing to apply for B.Des admission need to first meet the eligibility criteria of the course as prescribed by the desired institute. Provided below are the eligibility criteria of B.Des:

Minimum Qualification Required: 10+2 or its equivalent in any stream from a recognised board of education.

Minimum Marks/Percentage Required: Although it varies from institute to institute, an applicant must have secured at least 50% in +2 in order to seek admission. Often, the reserved category candidates are offered a relaxation of 5% to 10%.

Age Limit: The minimum age limit for admission to the programme is usually around 19 to 21 years. A few institutes also offer relaxation of 2-5 years to the reserved category candidates.
