Dear Student,

With 80 percentile in JEE Mains, the chances of securing admission in the top IITs/ NITs are sleek, but there are many mid-ranked or lower-ranked NIT colleges accepting 80 percentile in JEE Mains, such as NIT Raipur, NIT Agartala, NIT Durgapur. Private engineering colleges like BIT Ranchi, GITAM Hyderabad may also be good options for you. Since you also have secured 30000 rank in WBJEE, which is decent, you can explore options, such as Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata, or Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata. These institutes offer branches such as CSE (Data Science/Business Systems), IT, Electrical, and Biomedical Engineering within this range. Similarly, with 15000 rank in COMEDK, your best possible options are private engineering colleges, including Acharya Institute of Technology, New Horizon College of Engineering, and Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology. While CSE and related branches may be competitive, you should consider opting for Civil, ECE, and Mechanical Engineering here. With so many avenues open, it is ultimately up to you to make a decision. While NITs are a more prestigious choice, admission to colleges via state-level counselling is easier and much cheaper.

Dear Student,

It is not mandatory to pay the tuition fee for the college allotted in Phase 1 to be eligible for Phase 2 of TS PGECET 2025 counselling. If you wish to upgrade your seat you can participate in Phase 2 web options even if you do not pay the fees or report to the college allotted in the first phase. However, if you have already paid the fee for the Phase 1 college and then get a new seat in the second phase of counselling, the fees paid earlier be transferred to the new college. Any difference in the amount will be adjusted later. We hope this answers your query.

If you have further queries regarding admission to top private engineering colleges in India, you can write to hello@collegedekho.com or call our toll free number 18005729877, or simply fill out our Common Application Form on the website.
