Students who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree study must have completed their 10+2 level studies in science stream from a recognised Board. The students should also have secured at least 50% aggregate in their respective qualifying exams to be eligible to pursue the B.Sc degree study. The minimum aggregate score might vary from institute to institute. Hence, by securing the aforementioned aggregate score in the qualifying exam does not guarantee admission into the B.Sc programme.
There are two ways through which B.Sc admission in various Indian institutions/universities is done, i.e merit-based and entrance test based. Some B.Sc institutions offer admissions on the basis of the class XIIth scores of the candidates whereas some other institutions conduct their own entrance exams for the same purpose. In the entrance test-based admission process, the candidates have to sometimes appear in a counselling round or personal interview round and on the basis of the cumulative score, admissions are granted. Some institutions also offer B.Sc programmes in correspondence mode where a few of them conduct entrance tests for admission and some take into account the class XIIth scores.
Bachelor of Science is one of the most widely accepted programmes in India. The course is also globally recognized and enables students to pursue a master of science from abroad universities.
