All the eligible candidates must submit their class 12 marks or equivalent examination scores for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/Computer Science/Biotechnology/Biology before the deadline. These marks will be used to prepare the KEAM 2026 rank list. When preparing the rank list, equal weightage will be given to marks obtained in KEAM 2026 (Paper I and Paper II) and qualifying examination scores.
To check the KEAM 2026 ranks, the candidates will have to visit the official website of the entrance examination. It is to be noted that the candidates who do not submit their marks scored in the +2 level will not be considered while preparing the rank list. The candidates who will be included in the engineering rank list will not be able to take admission in the B.Arch course based on the engineering rank.
In order to qualify for the entrance exam and be included in the rank list of KEAM 2026, the candidate will be required to obtain at least 10 marks in each paper ( Paper I and Paper II). If a candidate is unable to meet the prescribed minimum qualifying marks of KEAM 2026, then they will not be included in the rank list. Not only this, the candidate will not be considered for KEAM 2026 counselling and seat allotment process. However, for SC/ ST candidates there is an exemption. For reserved category candidates, there are no minimum marks. But these candidates will have to answer at least one question in each paper, otherwise, they will be disqualified
In case of a tie between the scores of two or more candidates following criteria will be applied to select the candidate:
The candidates with higher marks in Mathematics in KEAM 2026 will be placed higher
If the tie remains, candidates who score more in Physics will be placed higher
If still there is a tie, then candidates with higher standardized marks in Mathematics of class 12 will be placed higher
If still, the tie remains, then higher standardized marks in Physics during class 12 examinations will be placed higher
If none of the above options works, then the candidate who is older in age will be placed higher
After the commencement of the examination, the normalisation process of KEAM 2026 will take place. With the help of this process, the exam conducting authority will create normalised marks for the examination. On the basis of the marks, the rank list for the test takers will be generated. There is a defined formula used for generating the normalised marks for KEAM. The exam conducting authority has clearly defined this formula on its official site for the test seekers.
The process of normalisation is generated considering two different parameters. These parameters are –
The marks of the candidates from different streams or boards other than Kerala Higher Secondary. The board of education can comprise ICSE, AISSCE and CBSE or any other board.
The marks of the different sections of KEAM are set as per the difficulty level of the examination. These sections comprise Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The process has been clearly defined by the exam conducting authority of KEAM. It is a procedure that must be conducted after the completion of the examination. With the help of this procedure, an equilibrium of marks will be defined for the test takers. This way, candidates will neither have any advantage or disadvantage due to the difficulty level of the examination. The duration of the examination, along with the shifts, is also considered for the normalisation process.
To know more about this KEAM 2026 normalization process, candidates can refer to the PDF given below.
Candidates will be admitted based on their performance in the KEAM examination. The cut-off list will be made public following the announcement of the results. The authorities will compile a merit list based on the cut-off marks, and students will be admitted based on the rank list. The cut off marks for general candidates will be 50% and 40% for SEBC/ST/SC candidates.
