XAT 2019 Syllabus

The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2019 syllabus includes all the topics that management aspirants must cover in order to prepare for the exam. You will find the complete syllabus of XAT 2019 below. Although XLRI Jamshedpur, the conducting body of the exam, has not prescribed any official XAT syllabus, we will provide to you an estimated XAT 2019 syllabus, which is based on the question papers and exam pattern of previous years.

Before we start giving details of XAT 2018 syllabus, it is important that you go through the exam pattern of XAT. The XAT exam is divided into Paper I and Paper II. Paper I consists of objective-type questions from Quantitative Ability, English language and Logical Reasoning and Decision-Making sections and the Paper II consists of General Knowledge and Essay Writing sections. Mentioned below is the syllabus of XAT 2019 revealing all the major topics in five sections.

XAT Syllabus for Quantitative Ability:

  • In XAT exam, the Quantitative Ability(QA) & Data Interpretation (DI) section is counted as one part of the paper.
  • In this section, there are 27 questions and we advise you to solve each question in 2 minutes and 17 seconds.
  • The difficulty level of QA & DA section is high. Below is the list of topics from where the questions are asked:

XAT Syllabus for Verbal and Logical Ability:

In this section, 26 questions are asked from the 7 important topics that are listed below. Last year, the difficulty level of this section was moderate.

XAT Syllabus for Decision Making:

There are 22 questions from this section. Decision-making section includes different categories, namely:

XAT Syllabus for General Knowledge (GK):

In this section, questions are asked about politics, geography, history and current affairs. There are 25 questions expected in this section. General Knowledge section comprises of the following:

XAT Syllabus for Essay Writing:

There is no defined syllabus for the Essay Writing section. During the XAT examination, candidates have to write an essay on the given topic. The topics are usually based on the current issues. Candidates are advised to take care of the grammatical rules and clarity of thought in essay writing.
