XAT 2023 entrance examination will be conducted on January 1, 2023. The XAT Syllabus 2023 is divided into four major sections, namely Quantitative Ability, Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, and General Knowledge. We have also provided the sub-topics which fall under these portions in the section below. If the candidates are to ace the entrance, they should pay equal heed to prepare all the topics which have been incorporated in the syllabus. Avoiding any of the topics might lead to a bad score and in turn not let the aspirants achieve their dreams.
The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2023 syllabus includes all the topics that management aspirants must cover to prepare for the exam. Though XLRI Jamshedpur, which is the conducting authority of the entrance does not prescribe any official XAT syllabus. The topics which have been provided below by us are an estimation based on the question paper and the exam paper of XAT 2023.
Candidates appearing in the XAT entrance should be aware of the XAT 2022 syllabus. XAT is a national-level entrance examination which is conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur to provide admissions to management programs at XLRI and other institutes accepting XAT scores all across India. Around 1,00,000 students appear for this entrance to crack it. To ace such an entrance, candidates are required to prepare a strategy. Knowing about the syllabus can be considered to be the first and the most pivotal step of the strategy. It is only after knowing about all the topics present in the syllabus can the candidates chalk out a timetable for preparation.

It is also advisable for the candidates to go through the exam pattern and marking scheme of XAT 2023 before starting to prepare for the entrance. Being aware of the structure of an examination is pretty vital if the candidates want to do well in the examination.
In the XAT exam, the Quantitative Ability(QA) & Data Interpretation (DI) section is counted as one part of the paper.
In this section, there are 27 questions and we advise you to solve each question in 2 minutes and 17 seconds.

The Essay Writing section was removed from XAT last year. However, we will have to wait for the official notification for any updates on whether there will be an Essay Writing section in XAT 2023 or not. There is no defined syllabus for the Essay Writing section. During the XAT examination, candidates have to write an essay on the given topic. The topics are usually based on the current issues. Candidates are advised to take care of the grammatical rules and clarity of thought in essay writing.
Certain changes were made by XLRI in the XAT Syllabus last year to keep up with the pace of changing times. We have provided the candidates who will appear in XAT 2023 with the changes made in the syllabus:
The Syllabus of XAT was reduced to 4 sections or subjects instead of 5.
Subjective questions (Essay Writing section) have been removed from the question paper.
No more than 100 questions will be asked in the question paper.
All the questions asked at the entrance will be of MCQ type.
There will be a scope of negative marking in 75 questions of the question paper.
The questions asked from the General Knowledge section will not have negative markings.

Some of the important topics covered in the Decision-Making section of XAT exam are Numeric Grid, Family Tree, Data Arrangement Test and Coding and Decoding.
The difficulty level of XAT exam is high in comparison to other management entrance exam. Candidates should prepare well in order to clear the exam.
Most of the candidates find the Quantitative Ability the most difficult. However, a candidate who is good with number will not face any difficulty while answering this section.
You should try to improve your grammatical skills and communication skills to perform well in the essay writing of XAT exam. Since are no particular topics for this part, you will be asked to write an essay on any topic.
Around 21 questions will be asked in the Decision-Making section of XAT exam. The difficulty level of these questions will be moderate.
The GK section of XAT exam will cover some general knowledge questions from Economics, International Relations, Business, Politics and many other topics.
