Factors Determining SNAP Cutoff 2025

Expect top spots like SIBM Pune to demand 97-98.5 percentile, while others range from 70-95, with results out on January 9, 2026 and around 1.45 lakh test-takers competing. Here are the main factors shaping your cutoff chances:

  • Number of Test-takers: With over 1.45 lakh expected in SNAP 2025, higher competition pushes cutoffs up, especially at elite institutes.
  • Exam Difficulty: A tougher paper lowers scores overall, dropping cutoffs; easier ones raise them, as seen in past trends.
  • Qualified Candidates and Scores: Top scores, averages, and pass rates decide who moves to GE-PI rounds; aim for 40+ marks for safety.
  • Available Seats: Limited spots in programs like MBA at SIBM or SCMHRD mean higher bars; mid-tier colleges offer more flexibility.
  • Past Trends: SIBM Pune hit 97.5 in 2024, up from 93.8 in 2020; cutoffs rise yearly with demand.

Changes in SNAP Cutoff Owing to Changes in Exam & Marking Pattern

As per the latest updates, the SNAP 2025 exam pattern remains unchanged from 2024. However, several modifications introduced earlier continue to influence the exam structure and cutoff trends. Candidates planning to appear for SNAP 2025 should note the following key highlights:

  • The exam will be held on three separate days, giving candidates the flexibility to attempt the test up to three times.
  • Each SNAP 2025 exam will have a duration of 60 minutes, reduced from the earlier 120-minute pattern.
  • The total number of questions remains at 60, significantly lower than the previous count of 110.
  • For the final result, only the best score among all attempts will be considered in the percentile calculation.
  • The score normalisation process has been updated to ensure consistent percentile allocation across multiple exam sessions.
  • Because of a reduced number of questions and total marks, achieving a higher percentile now requires comparatively fewer marks than in earlier years.

SNAP Selection Process 2025

Following the release of the SNAP 2025 results, SIU and its affiliated institutes will start shortlisting applicants in accordance with the SNAP cutoff 2025. The three stages in the SNAP 2025 admission process are the Group Exercise (GE), Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview.

SNAP Selection Process

On the official Symbiosis International (Deemed) University website, the waiting list and the SNAP merit list will both be available. To create the final merit list, the score would depend on the performance of the candidates in the following stages:

MBA Selection Parameters

Description

Total Weightage

SNAP score (scaled out of 150 marks)

It is a crucial component in the preparation of the final merit list.

50

Group Exercise

There are two stages in the Group Exercise (GE) round. Every group is assigned a task to solve in a specified amount of time during the first phase. The purpose of this activity is to assess the candidates' teamwork and coordination skills. The goal of this task is to demonstrate teamwork and leadership abilities.

Group discussions make up the second part of GE. The candidates are divided into groups, with a different topic of debate assigned to each group. They are given five minutes to come up with points pertaining to the topic, after which the floor is opened for discussion. The evaluation criteria of this round include the applicants' capacity for communication and convincing others, as well as clarity of thoughts and anticipation.

10

Personal Interview

At SIU, the Personal Interview (PI) phase includes asking candidates questions about their backgrounds and objectives for the future, just as at other universities. 'Why MBA?', 'where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?', 'how good are your leadership skills?' are some of the most often asked questions. This round evaluates the candidate’s communication and problem-solving skills.

30

Written Ability Test

In this phase, candidates will compose a brief essay on the topic given to them as part of an essay writing test. Occasionally, a video is shown to the candidates, who then have to create a narrative around it. The purpose of this round is to evaluate the candidates' interpretative and analytical skills.
