UPSEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

UPSEE 2020 (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) will be organised by Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), U.P. each year for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. UPSEE Eligibility Criteria may vary for different programmes.

Applicants of UPSEE must check the eligibility criteria prescribed by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The UPSEE 2020 will be conducted on May 10, 2020, hence the application process would begin from January. So before filling up the application forms, the candidates will have to check the UPSEE eligibility criteria. After checking the eligibility criteria the candidate must carefully fill in the application form

While filling up the UPSEE application form the candidates must be very careful and avoid making mistakes because there will be no separate window for the application form correction process. So then wrong information fed in the application form will be reflected in the admit card so the candidates must not make any mistake. Candidates must also check the reservation criteria in the UPSEE 2020 eligibility criteria so that while filling up the application form they can upload the required documents such as the caste certificate and domicile certificate etc. 

Candidates must satisfy the UPSEE 2020 eligibility criteria in order to be eligible to apply for the UPSEE 2020. Only qualifying in the UPSEE 2020 would not help the applicants to get admission in the institute, they will also have to satisfy the eligibility criteria of the examination.

Detailed UPSEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

UPSEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech./B.Pharm./B.Arch./BHMCT/BFAD/BFA

  • Candidate should pass the intermediate examination of U.P. Board or class 12th examination or its equivalent from any recognised Board/University.
  • Candidates should pass without grace in each of the compulsory subjects and one optional subject for filing the UPSEE 2020 Application Form.
  • Candidates should have obtained a minimum 45% marks and 40% marks for reserved (SC/ ST) category in aggregate in the required three subjects.
  • Candidates having a 3 years Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognised by Central / State Government are also eligible for admission in the first year of B. Arch. only, subject to the condition that the candidate has passed the Diploma examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate without grace. They will also be required to appear in the entrance examination for the first year of B. Arch. Paper 4.
  • Those candidates eligible for admission in the B.Tech programme will also be eligible for B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering) and B.Tech (Biotechnology).

UPSEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria for MBA/MCA/Integrated MBA Courses

  • Candidates should have a bachelor's degree from any recognised university with the minimum 50% for General category and 45% for Reserved (SC/ST) category.
  • Candidates should pass with Mathematics in Class 12th or graduation level to be eligible for admission to MCA programme.
  • For 5 year MBA programme (Integrated MBA programme) (Dual degree), candidates should pass Class 12th from UP Board or equivalent exam from any recognised board.

UPSEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry

For Lateral Entry in B.Tech Programmes, the following UPSEE eligibility norms are followed:

  • The Direct Admission (Lateral Entry) in the second year of B.Arch. the programme is not allowed.
  • Lateral entry in B.Tech for Engg. Diploma holders or B.Sc. Graduates with Mathematics as one of the subject in XII standard is offered in the institutions affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow.

Eligibility Criteria for admission to the second year in any branch of Engineering / Technology (Lateral Entry):

  • Passing 3 years Engg. Diploma from a U.P. Institution, with minimum 45% marks and 40% for reserved (SC/ ST) category

Or

  • Those who have parents (father or mother) with the domicile of Uttar Pradesh and have passed 3 years Engg. Diploma with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ ST) recognised by the Board of Technical Education, U.P., in any branch of Engineering (except Agriculture Engg., Pharmacy, and Architecture).
  • Those who have 3-year B.Sc. degree from any recognised University with minimum 45% marks and 40% for reserved (SC/ST) category in aggregate and have passed 12th standard with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

UPSEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria for admission to the second year of Agriculture Engg. (Lateral Entry)

  • Candidates should have passed 3 years Diploma in Agriculture Engg. from a U.P. Institution with minimum 45% marks and 40% for reserved (SC/ ST) category Or Parents (father or mother) with the domicile of U.P. and passed three years Diploma in Agriculture Engg. with minimum 45% marks and 40% for reserved (SC/ ST) category from an institution recognised by the Board of Technical Education, U.P.

UPSEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria for admission to the second year of B. Pharm

  • Candidates should be a B.Sc Graduate or 2/3 years Diploma in Pharmacy with mathematics subject in Class XII.

UPSEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria for admission to the second year of MCA

  • Candidate should have a bachelor degree of minimum three years in BCA/B.Sc (IT/Computer Application).
  • Candidate should have obtained minimum 50% aggregate if they are in general category and 45% marks if they are in SC/ST category.

Note: Lateral entry in B.Arch./BHMCT/BFAD/BFA/MBA courses is not permitted.

Important Points

  • Candidates will be given only one type of horizontal reservation out of UPFF/UPAF/UPHC. However, female candidates of UP can claim for any one of UPFF/UPAF/UPHC along with UPGL.

  • Candidates must mention their category at the time of the application process.

  • Under any circumstances, request for a change in the category/sub-category at a later stage will not be entertained.

  • Candidates will be notified about the availability of seats under the Fee Waiver scheme in the respective category during the counselling process.

  • Female candidates will automatically get all the benefits of UPGL subcategory.

  • Passouts of institutes located in UP's rural area will be given a weightage of 3% of the total marks obtained by them in UPSEE 2020.

FAQs

1. Will the candidates be given an opportunity to make changes in the UPSEE application form after the final submission?
Ans: The UPSEE officials do not open up the online application form correction process to allow candidates making changes in their submitted UPSEE online application forms. It is thus highly recommended that the candidates must go through the entire application form twice before the final submission.
2. Are there any seats reserved for the wards of defence personnel in Colleges accepting UPSEE scores?
Ans: Yes. 5% seats will be reserved for wards of defence personnel belonging to the state of Uttar Pradesh. The candidates can refer to the aforementioned table for detailed information on the percentage of seats reserved for wards of defence personnel.
3. I belong to SC category and my aggregate in the required three subjects at the 10+2 level is 52%. Can I apply for UPSEE B.Tech programme?
Ans: Yes you can. Applicants belonging to SC category must have an aggregate of 45% at least to be eligible to apply for B.Tech programme through the UPSEE exam.
