About SBI PO 2018

State Bank of India (SBI) conducts SBI PO exam every year at a national-level for the recruitment of Probationary Officers in India. SBI PO exam has three 3 main stages- Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Group Discussion/Interview. Conducted in online (computer-based) mode, candidates qualifying in the Preliminary exam will be eligible to sit in the Main exam and the final stage, which is the Group Discussion and Interview round.

SBI PO 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

As per the eligibility criteria specified by the commission, only citizens of India are allowed to apply for SBI PO 2018 exam.

Age Limit:

  • General category applicants within the age group of 21 to 3o years (as per the date specified by the bank) are eligible to apply for SBI PO 2018 exam.

  • The below table lists the age relaxation details of SBI PO 2018.

Academic Qualification:

  • Graduate candidates in any discipline from a State or Central recognized university or equivalent are eligible for SBI PO 2018.

  • Final year candidates are also eligible to apply but solely on the provisional basis. Such candidates will have to produce a proof of having passed their Graduation final exam afterwards.

Number of Attempts of SBI PO 2018:

Applicants who have already appeared for the maximum number of chances permissible are not eligible to apply for SBI PO 2018.

Phase III: Group Exercises and Interview

  • The qualifying marks in Group Exercises and Interview will be as decided by the Bank.

  • Candidates qualifying for Group Exercises and Interview under 'OBC' category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the 'Non Creamy layer' clause. Candidates not submitting the OBC certificate containing the 'Non Creamy layer' clause and requesting to be interviewed under General category will not be entertained.

Marking System (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination)

  • There will be negative marking for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.

  • For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.

  • If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no negative marking for that question.

SBI PO Main 2018 Exam Analysis

Candidates who qualified the SBI PO 2018 Prelims, took the Main exam on 4th August 2018. The examination was conducted by State Bank of India (SBI) in online mode in a single slot  from 10 AM to 1.30 PM. Those who appeared for SBI PO mains exam may now go through SBI PO mains exam analysis. As part of the analysis, candidates will be able to get an insight into the exam's difficulty level, section-wise weightage, section-wise topics, etc.

In SBI PO Mains exam, the different sections include Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language.

Except for the English Language section, all the other sections were available in both English and Hindi languages. Negative marking was applicable on every incorrect answer. The Mains exam was divided into two parts – Objective Test and Descriptive Test.

SBI PO Prelims 2018 Exam Analysis

The SBI PO Prelims 2018 examinations were conducted successfully from July 1 to 8, 2018. State Bank of India (SBI) conducted the computer-based test in 4 slots on each of the days. The result for the SBI PO Prelims 2018 examination is expected to be out on July 15, 2018.

The next stage is the SBI PO Main examination, which will be taken by candidates who qualify the Preliminary examination. In terms of difficulty, the paper was moderate and was on the same lines as previous years' paper. The cut-off for SBI PO Prelims 2018 is also expected to be on the same lines as that of last year.

SBI PO Preliminary Exam has 3 sections - English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. In each slot of the exam, candidates had to answer a total of 100 questions in 1-hour duration. Each correct answer carried one mark whereas there was a negative marking of 0.25 mark for every incorrect answer in the entrance exam. Except for English language, all other sections were available in both English and Hindi versions.

1. At the time of examination/interview, a candidate will be liable for disqualification or will be debarred either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or recruitment conducted by Bank if found guilty of the following:

  • Using unfair means during the examination or
  • Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person or
  • Misbehaving in the examination hall or
  • Resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his/her candidature for selection or
  • Obtaining support for his/her candidature by any unfair means, such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution.

2. Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones/ pagers to the venue of the examination/interview, as an arrangement for safekeeping cannot be assured.

3. Candidates are not permitted to use or have calculators in examination premises.

SBI PO 2018 Admit Card

SBI PO 2018 Admit Card for Mains examination has been released by the State Bank of India (SBI) in online mode. The admit card of SBI PO Mains 2018 has been issued to the candidates who have been shortlisted after the Preliminary examination. The admit card is released in three stages - Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Group Exercises & Interview on the official website of SBI. To access the admit card of SBI PO 2018, candidates may be required to enter details such as their registration number/roll number and date of birth/password. For Photograph Image:

  • Recent passport size Photograph (coloured)

  • Make sure that the picture is in coloured, taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background.

  • Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred)

  • Size of file should be between 20kb–50 kb

For Signature Image:

  • The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.

  • The Signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.

  • Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred)

  • Size of file should be between 10kb – 20kb

  • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20kb

  • Signature in CAPITAL letters shall not be accepted.
