NEET MDS Application Form 2023 (Direct Link Activated)

NEET MDS is an entrance test conducted on a national level. Candidates aspiring to get admission in postgraduate dental courses all over India will have to qualify for the examination. There is no other entrance exam (both at the state or institution level) for admission to MDS courses.

Detailed Eligibility Criteria for NEET MDS 2023

Candidates looking to know about the academic qualifications and internship experience requirements for NEET MDS 2023 can check the following points. The following requirements have been prescribed by the Dental Council of India under MDS Course Regulations 2017.

  • Candidates wishing to apply for the Master in Dental Surgery course must hold a Bachelor in Dental Surgery course from a recognised university.

  • The candidates must also have undergone a rotatory internship of one year in any recognised dental college. 

  • The candidates must have obtained permanent or provisional registration. If candidates are undergoing a one-year rotatory internship or practical training, they must make sure that their internship ends by 31 July 2023. If candidates fail to do so, they will not be considered eligible for NEET MDS 2023. The NBEMS decided to extend this period of internship to 31 July 2023 instead of 31 March 2023. 

NEET MDS Eligibility Criteria 2023 for All India 50% Quota Seats

  • Candidates who hold a BDS degree from Jammu and Kashmir will not be considered eligible for the 50 per cent All India Quota seats. 

  • Candidates who got nominated by the GOI (under central pool seats) to pursue a BDS course from any Dental College in J&K can apply for admission through the quota, provided, they submit a signed affidavit stating the same. 

  • Candidates who fail to submit the mentioned document will not be eligible to get admission through the quota. 

  • The restrictions from the states of J&K will not be applicable to the candidates belonging to Armed Forces categories for MDS admissions in Armed Forces Institutes. 

NOTE: 

  • If a candidate is found ineligible for NEET MDS 2023 at any stage of the examination, she/he will not be allowed to appear for the exam or counselling. 

  • In an unlikely event, is an ineligible candidate appears in the exam or becomes successful, the conducting authority will have full power to cancel the candidature or result of such candidate. 

NEET MDS 2023 Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Nationals

At the time of NEET MDS 2023 examination, it is not required for foreign nationals to have temporary registration with DCI. However, candidates are required to follow the procedure mentioned below. 

  • On payment of the application fee, DCI may grant temporary registration to the candidate for the duration of the course and training, which will be restricted to the dental institution she/he is admitted. 

  • The candidate must be a registered practitioner in her/his own country.

  • The candidate must have obtained a basic dental qualification in that country, which is recognised by the concerned authority or corresponding state dental council. 

  • The starting and completion date for the Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship given by candidates will be treated as final. 

  • Candidates will be required to submit their original Internship completion certificate at the time of counselling.

NEET MDS Eligibility Criteria 2023 for Jammu and Kashmir Students

Candidates belonging to the state of Jammu and Kashmir have to meet the below-given criteria to be deemed eligible for the NEET MDS process. They must go through all the details on NEET MDS 2023 Eligibility Criteria to apply for the exam successfully.

  • Students who have their UG degrees from Jammu and Kashmir are not considered eligible under the AIQ category.

  • However, the students nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) who wish to pursue BDS from Dental Colleges in J&K shall be eligible to apply for admission.

  • Such candidates must submit a signed affidavit stating that the GOI has nominated them under the category of specific pool seats and send the same to the NEET MDS office's registered address along with the attached application form's copy.

NEET MDS Eligibility Criteria 2023 for NRI Students

Students applying for the NEET MDS exam under the NRI provision have to meet the authorities ' fixed eligibility criteria. Given below are the details covering NEET MDS 2023 Eligibility criteria for NRI.

  • Students have to submit 12 months of Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship certificate to the authorities at the time of counselling

  • Those aspirants’ candidature will be rejected if they are planning to pursue an internship after 31st March 2023 as per the Dentists Act.

  • Some of the institutions/ universities have regulations that students who are pursuing the PG Course in their University or another college will not be deemed eligible for admission until they complete the entire course.
