About IBPS Clerk Exam 2019

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) organises a common written exam (CWE) every year to fill various posts in the clerical cadre in multiple Public Sector banks and financial Institution across the country. IBPS Clerk exam is organised in two stages – Preliminary and Mains. Candidates who pass these examinations are selected for recruitment in the clerical cadre.

IBPS Clerk 2019 Preliminary examination will start from 8th December 2018. The online application form had started from 18th September 2018 and the process ended on 10th October 2018. IBPS Clerk 2019 Mains Exam is scheduled to be held on 20th January 2019. Those qualifying the Premlinary examination will be shortlisted for Mains examination.

IBPS Clerk 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can check below the eligibility norms of IBPS Clerk 2019 to know the requirements they have to fulfil pertaining to their age, qualification, nationality, language proficiency, and others.

Nationality:

  • A candidate should be an Indian citizen or
  • He/She may also be citizen of Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan Refugee
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of settling permanently in India.
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age:

  • Candidate should be between 20 Years and 28 Years.
  • Candidate should be born after 02.08.1988 and before 01.08.1996.

Educational Details:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in any subject from any University recognised by the Government of India or any Central Government.
  • While applying for IBPS Clerk 2017, candidates should have a valid mark sheet / degree certificate of their graduation.
  • All academic qualifications should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognised by Government of India/ approved by Government Regulatory Bodies and the result should have been declared on or before September 2017.

Language Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT where the candidate has applied.
  • Candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT.

Computer Literacy:

  • Candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.

IBPS Clerk Exam 2019 Exam Pattern

IBPS Clerk Exam is organised in online mode by means of CWE (short for Common Written Test).

  • IBPS Clerk exam is organised in two stages – Preliminary and Mains. Candidates qualifying Preliminary round are eligible for Mains round.
  • Both the exams will be of Objective type.
  • Candidates will have the option of answering the questions in Hindi or English according to their preference.

Preliminary Exam Pattern:

Candidates appearing for IBPS Clerk must first go through this stage. This is a qualifying examination, as candidates clearing IBPS Prelims are then eligible to appear for Mains.

  • There are 3 sections in the examination.
  • There are a total of 100 objective type questions.
  • The total duration of the exam is 1 hour (60 minutes).
  • The total marks of the exam is 100.

Candidates qualifying the preliminary examination will then have to appear for IBPS Clerk Mains.

  • There are 5 sections in the examination.
  • There are a total of 200 objective type questions.

Marking System:

  • There will be negative marking for each incorrect answer. 1/4 or 0.25 will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • If a question is left blank, or no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no negative marking for that question.

IBPS Clerk 2019 Result

IBPS announces the result after completion of each stage of the IBPS Clerk examination. Candidates can check the IBPS Clerk Result on the official website. The final merit list will be prepared in descending order of the marks obtained by candidates in their examination.

Candidates can view their IBPS Clerk 2019 Scorecard on the official website of IBPS using their Roll Number or Registration Number/User Id and D.O.B or Password. IBPS Preliminary Result is announced in the month of December 2018 and the Main result will be announced on 1st April 2019.

Candidates can check their IBPS Clerk 2019 Preliminary result by following the steps mentioned:

  • Go to the official website of IBPS.
  • Click on the link "View your Result of Main Examination for CWE-Clerks-VI” and click on it.
  • A new page will be appear on your screen. Enter all the basic details such as Roll Number/Registration Number and Password/ DOB to download IBPS Clerk result.
  • After that, enter the caption/captcha code.
  • Then, click on the login tab and the IBPS Clerk Result will appear on your system screen.
  • Download and take a print out of IBPS Clerk Result for further process.

Details on IBPS Clerk 2019 Scorecard

In case of the Preliminary result, only the qualifying status of the candidate is displayed first. IBPS Preliminary Score Card is issued after a few days. However, the Mains Exam Scorecard will be released along with the qualifying status.

The total marks allotted for IBPS Clerk Mains 2019 exam are 200. However, the marks obtained by candidates will be calculated out of 100 for Provisional Allotment. Marks obtained by candidates in IBPS Clerk 2019 Mains exam along with the list of candidates qualified for provisional allotment will be declared together in the month of April 2019.

  • The corrected scores secured by each of the candidates in different sessions will be normalized using equipercentile method.
  • For the purpose of calculation, two decimal points scores will be taken.

IBPS Clerk Exam 2019 Cut-offs

Each candidate will need to secure a minimum score in each test of Online Main Examination and also a minimum total score to be considered for the interview process. Based on the number of the State/ Union territory wise vacancies available, cut-offs will be decided and candidates will be considered for provisional allotment. Before completing the provisional allotment process, the scores obtained in the Online Main Examination will not be shared with the selected candidates.

IBPS Clerk Exam 2019 Selection Process

In the selection process of IBPS, there are 3 stages  – Preliminary exam,  Mains exam and the final stage is the interview.

  • Candidates who pass in the Main examination will be placed in descending order as per their respective categories and marks.
  • On the basis of the number of vacancies, only certain number of candidates from amongst those who qualify by ranking high enough in the merit will be called for interview in the ratio of maximum 3 candidates for each vacancy.
  • Candidates will have to score minimum percentage marks (to be decided by the bank) in the interview to be considered for final selection.
  • 5% relaxation for reserved (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS) category will be available thereon.
  • Interview call letters will be uploaded on the Bank's website after the announcement of the result of the online test.
  • No hard copy of interview call letter will be sent by post.

Final Selection:

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination stage-I will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination Stage-II will be added to the marks obtained in Interview Stage-III (if interview is held) for preparation of the final merit list. Final selection will be done on the basis of candidate's performance in the test (main examination) and interview (if interview is held) taken together.

The results of the candidates who are eligible for Interview and the list of candidates finally selected will be made available on the Bank's website.

  • System generated printout of the online application
  • Date of Birth proof
  • Identification Proof
  • Mark sheets and certificates (Proper document from Board / University for having declared the result on or before 27.11.2017 has to be submitted)
  • Caste Certificate Documents (If you are belonging to SC/ST/OBC category candidates authorised by Government of India.)
  • Disability certificate (authorised by District Medical Board)
  • Experience certificates, if any
  • Persons eligible for age relaxation must produce a certificate from the District Magistrate to the effect that they are eligible for relief in terms of the Rehabilitation Package for 1984 Riot Affected
  • Persons sanctioned by the Government.
  • Any other relevant documents.

How to Apply for IBPS Clerk Exam 2019

Candidates will have to apply on the official website of IBPS through the online application form. Candidates should prepare the following documents before applying online for IBPS Clerk 2019.

  • Scan the photograph/image and signature as per the prescribed given dimension and size.
  • Keep all the required documents handy to make online payment of the requisite application fee/ intimation charges.
  • There must be a valid email ID before applying.
  • Signature in capital letters will not be accepted.
  • The registered email ID must be kept active until the recruitment process is completed.

Guidelines for Applying Online for IBPS Clerk 2019 Exam

Candidate Registration:

  • Log in to the official website of IBPS.
  • Click on the given link ‘IBPS Clerk Application Form ’
  • Candidates will be re-directed to the registration page. On the registration page, candidates need to select ‘Click here for New Registration’ tab.
  • A page containing the guidelines for the application form will be displayed on your system screen.
  • Candidates should read the details before applying for the examination.

Filling up of basic information:

  • After reading the instructions carefully, candidates should click on the ‘next’ tab.
  • Candidates will have to register with their name, mobile no, email ID, security code.
  • After that, candidates will have to fill their educational details, nationality, state, domicile, category, etc.
  • On successful registration, candidates will be issued a registration number and password.
  • An intimation regarding the same will also be sent to candidates' registered email address and mobile number.

Uploading of scanned photograph and signature:

  • Candidates will have to upload their photograph and signature as per the given size and format.
  • There will be two separate links for uploading Photograph and Signature.
  • Click on the respective links for uploading the Photograph / Signature.
  • After that, browse and select the location where the Scanned Photograph / Signature file is saved.
  • Select the file by clicking on it.
  • Click the option ‘Open/Upload’ button.

Application Fee: 

  • INR. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates.
  • INR. 600 /- for all others.

Payment Option:

  • The payment can be made by using debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen.

Note: Bank Transaction charges for Online Payment of application fees/ intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate.

Submit Application Form:

  • Candidates will need to take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form.
  • The print out of the application form and e-receipt should be kept safe by the candidates.
  • Candidates should note down the registration number and password for downloading the admit card.
