About IBPS PO 2022 (Application Form Out)

IBPS PO 2022 notification has been released by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection on August 1, 2022. Candidates who are eligibile to apply for the exam can fill the IBPS PO Application Form 2022 from Aug 2 to 22, 2022 in the online mode. IBPS PO 2022 exam dates are yet to be announced. However, as per the official notification, the IBPS PO prelims exam will be conducted in October 2022. And the mains exam will be scheduled in the last week of November 2022. IBPS, recently, published the list of IBPS PO 2022 revised vacancies. The total vacancies have increased from 6,432 to 6,932. Now, as the IBPS PO forms are out and the exam will be conducted within 3 months, banking aspirants should get aware of the IBPS PO Exam pattern and start preparing as per the IBPS PO Syllabus

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is the organising body of IBPS PO. IBPS PO is one of the popular entrance examinations that is conducted for the recruitment of POs (Probationary Officers) in various participating banks across India. The recruitment process is divided into three stages - Preliminary exam, Mains exam and finally the Interview round. The marks of the Preliminary examination are used while generating the merit list, but it is only a qualifying exam. Candidates who qualify for the Prelims exam are called to write the IBPS PO Mains examination. The marks obtained in the Mains examination are considered for shortlisting candidates for the interview and also for the final merit.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts various exams for hiring eligible candidates for different posts in various Public Sector banks as well as other participating organisations. Every year, IBPS releases notifications for such recruitment in National Banks, State Bank and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). The minimum required eligibility is that the candidate should be a graduate in any discipline. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous organisation that evaluates and selects candidates for various Public Sector Banks in India, by developing and implementing world-class processes.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2022

The candidates who wish to apply for the exam must fulfill the IBPS PO 2022 eligibility requirements. The detailed eligibility requirements for IBPS PO 2022 exam have been demonstrated below:

Education Qualification Requirement

The candidates who wish to appear for IBPS PO 2022 exam must fulfill the following educational qualification requirements:

  • The candidates must have passed Graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
  • The candidates must have passed all the subjects at the graduation level (there is no minimum percentage requirement).
  • The students who are appearing for final year exams and who will get their results before the selection process of IBPS PO 2022 can also apply.

Nationality of the Candidate

The candidates who wish to apply for IBPS PO 2022 exam must fulfill one of the following laid nationality condition as per the eligibility norms. That means, the candidates must be:

  • Citizen of India or
  • The subject of Nepal or
  • The subject of Bhutan or
  • Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to settle in India permanently or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia) Zaire, and Vietnam came to settle in India permanently. Also, he/she should have received the certificate of eligibility issued by the government of India.

Age Limit Requirement

The exam authority has also mentioned the age limit criteria for IBPS PO which the candidates must fulfill. There are also certain relaxation schemes for the reserved class. As per the age limit criteria,

  • The minimum age of the candidate should be 20 years old.
  • The maximum age of the candidate should not be more than 30 years.
  • As per the protocols laid by IBPS, there is a specific relaxation policy provided to the reserved candidates for age limit which includes 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwD, and 5 years for EXSM, Persons domiciled in J&K, Persons affected by the 1984 riots.

IBPS PO 2022 Vacancies

Along with the official Notification, the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection also releases the IBPS PO vacancies. The vacancies under IBPS PO are announced as per the requirements of the Public Sector banks. On an average 4,000 vacancies are announced every year. But this year, IBPS PO vacancies saw a good hike. IBPS recently published the list of IBPS PO 2022 revised vacancies. Earlier, the vacancies released were 6,432. But now, after Bank of Maharshtra also updated its vacancies, the bank aspirants would be happy to know that the total vacancies have increased to 6,932.

IBPS PO 2022 Application Form

The candidates who fulfill all the eligibility requirements for IBPS PO 2022 will have to fill out the application form to go to the next phase. IBPS PO 2022 application form is available in the online mode and it is mandatory for all the candidates to fill out the application form. The candidates will also be required to pay the application fee and upload the documents at the time of registration. 

How to apply online for IBPS PO 2022?

The candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to apply for IBPS PO 2022 exam:

  • Visit the official website of IBPS.

  • Click on ‘New Registration’ on the ‘Home’ page.

  • A new dialogue box will open with credentials to be filled in by the new member to get a Registration Number and a Password from the exam conducting authority.

  • After adding information in the blanks, click on ‘Submit’ button.

  • You are now a registered member for IBPS website. A Provisional Registration Number and a Password will be sent on the provided email address and phone number.

  • If you are a registered member, then log in with your Registration Number and Password to start the form filling process.

  • Once you have logged in with the Registration Number and Password correctly then a new page with the form will open

  • Enter your basic details like First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Mobile Number, Alternate Mobile Number and Email ID, in this form.

  • When you are done filling the blanks given, cross-check and click on ‘Save and Next’ tab given in the right-hand side corner at the end of the page.

  • A new page will open with option to upload the images.

  • These scanned images of your photograph and signature are to be uploaded one by one in the space given.

  • The format and size of the image is a must to be followed, else your images will not be accepted by the system.

  • After successfully uploading the scanned copies, click on ‘Next’ tab.

  • In the next step, you will be required to select the preferred organisation for Pre Exam Training and final recruitment.

  • You can select your preferences from the list provided on the left side of the page.

  • After selecting all the desired preferences, click on the ‘Save and Next’.

  • You must cross check the details filled in as no changes will be done in this portion once it has been submitted from your end.

  • The registration fee can be paid using Internet banking /credit card/debit card/IMPS/Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets only.

  • After completing the payment, a transaction acknowledgement page will open along with mail on the registered email address. Save this page and take a print out of it for future reference.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2022

It is important for the candidates to go through the complete IBPS PO Exam Pattern. This will help them understand the pattern of the questions asked in the exam and prepare accordingly. The detailed subject wise exam pattern for IBPS PO 2022 is given below:

Note: Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

Main Examination:

Main Examination will have 200 marks for Objective Tests and 25 marks for Descriptive Test. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. Immediately after the completion of the Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be conducted.

  • Objective Test: The Objective Test is of 3 hours duration. The Objective Test will have different times for every section. The candidates need to qualify for each of the tests by obtaining the passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

  • English Language (Letter Writing & Essay):The Duration of Descriptive Test is 30 minutes (25 marks) and it will be a test of English Language such as Letter Writing and  Essay writing. The candidates need to qualify for the Descriptive Test by obtaining passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

Note:  Marks obtained by the candidates in the Main examination will be considered for shortlisting for Interview and preparation of final merit list.

IBPS PO Admit Card 2022, also known as the call letter, is released after the end of the registration. The admit card is released online on the official website for all the registered candidates. IBPS PO Cutoff 2022

IBPS PO Selection Process 2022

After the IBPS PO 2022 Preliminary examination over, those candidates who have successfully given the exam can check for their results as it will be declared by the exam conducting authority. This will complete the First Stage, making way for the eligible candidates to participate in the second stage of the Selection Process of IBPS PO.  These stages are also the determining factors for the Selection Process without which the final selection of the candidates for the post of Probationary Officer (PO) will not complete. The IBPS PO 2022 selection process will go through the following stages:

  • Performance in the Preliminary test,
  • Performance in the Main test,
  • Performance in the Interview,
  • Verification of the Documents

IBPS PO Preliminary Test

This is the First Stage of Selection Process of IBPS PO 2022. In this candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the online exam conducted all over the nation. The level of competition in this stage is high, as the number of applicants is more than 3 lakhs, which tends to increase with every passing year and announcement of different banking posts. . And the result for the same has now been declared on the official website of IBPS. Candidates who will clear this stage and mark their place in the provisional cut-off marks list will become eligible to appear in the Second Stage of the Selection Process.

IBPS PO Mains Test

IBPS PO Mains is the Second Stage of the Selection Process that can be taken only by the candidates who have acquired the Provisional Cut-Off Marks in the First Stage which is the Preliminary Exam. Once the result of the Prelims are out, selected candidates will be able to download their IBPS PO 2022 Mains Admit Card from the official website. The Mains Examination will be a paper of 3 hours and 30 minutes with 155 + 2 questions. The paper will be both Objective and Subjective in the medium of the language selected by the candidates. Candidates successfully clearing this stage will be sent forward for the Third Stage of the Selection Process.

IBPS PO Interview Process

Only those candidates who qualify for IBPS PO Mains will be called for the Interview Process which is the Third Stage of the Selection Process. Interviews will be organised at select centres. The examination centre, the address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be notified to the selected candidates in the call letter. Candidates will have to download their interview call letters from the official website of IBPS. Please note that no request regarding changes in the date of interview, center etc. will be considered. However, the conducting authorities have the right to change the date, venue, time, centre etc. of interview or hold supplementary process for the particular date, session, venue/centre under unforeseen circumstances, if any.

The total weightage for the Interview Process is 100 marks. General category candidates need to score 40% of marks in the Interview Process to qualify. Candidates belonging to reserved categories must score 35% of marks. The cumulative score of Mains and Interview Process in a ratio of 80:20 will be taken into consideration for selecting the candidates for which a merit list will be prepared. Candidates whose name feature in the merit list will be offered appointment letters.
