SET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The SET 2020 eligibility criteria include the eligibility norms that aspiring candidates must fulfil in order to sit for the entrance test. It is necessary to fulfill the eligibility conditions to be considered eligible for admissions. As part of SET 2020 eligibility criteria, candidates will have to fulfil requirements such as age, qualifying exam and the marks scored by candidates, subject combination in qualifying marks, etc. 

Candidates must go through the following eligibility criteria for different undergraduate courses offered by SIU affiliated colleges:

B.Tech
  • Passed class 12 exam with Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates should have had any one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical vocational subject.
  • Should have obtained at least 45% marks (in case of General category) or 40% (in case of SC/ST category) in the subjects mentioned above.
BCA
  • Passed 10+2 or diploma in engineering/technology.
  • Should have scored a minimum of 50% marks (in case of General category) or 45% marks (in case of SC/ST category).
BBA
  • Passed 12th class examination from a recognised board with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST candidates).
B.Sc (Liberal Arts)
  • Passed 10+2 in any stream with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST).
  • NRI candidates taking the final Class 12th exam in India may also apply.
  • NRIs, Foreign  Nationals  (FN) and  Persons of  Indian  Origin  (PIO) must apply through the Symbiosis Center for International Education (SCIE).
B.A.LL.B./B.B.A.LL.B.
  • Passed 12th in any branch with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Candidates awaiting results of their qualifying exam are also eligible to apply. Such candidates have to submit the passing certificate during the final admission process.
B.Sc. Economics (Hons.)
  • Passed Class 12th in any stream with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST category).
B.Des
  • Passed 10+2 in any branch or equivalent or 10+3 diploma with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Final year appearing students may also apply.

FAQs

1. How to Register For SET?

A candidate can register for one paper from the morning session; viz, Law or Design and one paper from the afternoon session; viz, General or Engineering or Health Sciences.

  • The candidate can register at www.set-test.org
  • This will generate his/her SET ID.
  • Candidates need not register for SET if they wish to offer scores of entrance tests other than SET such as JEE (Main). Such candidates may apply directly to the preferred institute. Note: This is also applicable for SSCA (Symbiosis School of Culinary Arts) wherein, the score of NCHMCT JEE is accepted.
  • A candidate must upload his/her latest scanned photograph (in the required format and size) at the time of online registration.

2. How do I pay the fee to undergraduate institutes of Symbiosis International University?

You may pay online/offline for admission to undergraduate courses of the University. The entrance test registration fee for SET- General/SLAT/SEED is Rs. 1750. The same is non-refundable and non-transferable.

3. I have completed the online application form. But I have not taken a print out. How can I get a print out now?

You can go to the apply online page again and enter your personal details and application number. You can then take a printout of the page. 

4. When will I get my Admit Card?

You will have to log on to the SET official website with your registered User ID to view and print your Admit Card. 
Note: You will be eligible for an Admit Card only upon submission of the online application form. 

5. I have received the SET ID & Password, what can I use it for?

You can use the SET ID/email and password to modify personal details in the SET application form and to view/print the admit card. If you apply to institutes, which take SET scores, you should use your SET ID.

6. My current address is valid only until March-end. Is it possible for me to update and make changes in the address in April?

Yes, you can modify any set of personal details after receiving your SET ID /email and password.

7. What is the eligibility criteria for SET Law?

The candidate should have passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognised Board with minimum 45% marks (40% for S.C. /S.T. candidates). Students of XII grade are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate at the time of final admission.
