Eligibility Criteria of SET 2026 for International Students

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has set aside 15% of the total seats for international students including Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) Card Holders, Foreign Nationals (FN), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders, and Non-Resident Indians (NRI).

For Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)

According to the notification released by the Government of India (GOI) on 9th January 2015, all the currently registered Persons of India Origin (PIO) shall be considered as Overseas Citizens of India cardholders.

For Foreign Nationals

An aspirant is eligible to apply as a Foreign National if he/she is registered as a citizen of any country besides India. He/she must hold a foreign passport. 

For Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)

Candidates who have an OCI card and are granted Overseas Citizenship of India can be held eligible to apply for SET 2026 as an OCI.

For Non-Resident Indians (NRI)

Aspirants applying for SET 2026 as an NRI shall meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Must have appeared for either 10th or 12th examination outside India.
  • Candidates who have appeared for the 10th examination outside India must have appeared for the 12th examination in India.

SET Reservation Policy 2026

The college has a reservation policy in place for accepting applicants into different programs. Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandits/ Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in Kashmiri Valley are given two seats per program. Foreign applicants will be given 15% of the available seats. Applicants from the reserved categories must bring supporting documentation to the PI-WAT/ST-PI.

Reservation Policy SET: Important Points to Remember

Check out the following key details about the SET 2026 reservation policy:

  • At the period of the Personal Interview (PI) or Written Ability Test, applicants trying to apply for the reservation criteria will be expected to send necessary documentation issued by the appropriate authority.
  • Applicants applying under the Armed Forces Dependents section will be considered in the OPEN/General category.                                               
  • Applicants applying under the category must have their disability verified by the Symbiosis Center of Health Care (SCHC). Only after SCHC authentication will the admission be considered regularized.
  • Candidates who fall into more than one group must select one category when completing the SET registration form, and advantages and allowances will be considered based on the category selected all through the SET 2026 application process.
  • If the candidate's data is found to be inaccurate at any point in time, the SIU has the right to cancel that candidate's application.

SET 2026 Reservation Policy: Nagpur Domicile

Applicants who have lived in Nagpur for 5 years or more and also have finished Class 12 or similar from the Maharashtra Board will be given a 25% reservation. They must have the required documentation with them during the PI and WAT rounds:

  • The competent authority issues a certificate of domicile.
  • Grade 12 mark sheet Applicants taking the Class 12 exam must submit a genuine certificate from their current university, as well as their Class 10 marksheet.

What is the minimum aggregate that is required to apply for BBA through SET?

A minimum of 50% marks in the class 12th exam is required to pursue a BBA programme through SET. Reserved category candidates are given a relaxation of 5% and they can apply with 45% marks.
