FTII JET 2025 results for Stage 1 (written test) are expected in August 2025, likely by the end of August. FTII JET 2025 written exam was held on July 27, 2025. FTII JET is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) and Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI). The exam is conducted annually for admission to postgraduate and postgraduate diploma courses offered at FTII and SRFTI universities. These courses are offered under two wings as described below.

• Film Wing: It offers courses such as writing, editing, direction & screenplay, acting, sound designing, cinematography, feature film screenplay writing and recording, and art direction & production design.
• Television Wing: It offers courses such as electronic cinematography, direction, sound recording & television engineering, and video editing.

FTII JET is a nationally administered entrance examination that opens gateways to various PG and certificate-level courses across TV and film wings. To grab a seat at the prestigious FTII Pune or SRFTI Kolkata, besides qualifying the written exam applicants need to undergo other selection phases to finally confirm admission. 

Students scoring the required JET score have to participate in an orientation process along with an interview. Post declaration of the FTII JET 2025 results, a merit list will be shared on the website that will contain the names of the candidates who will be invited for the next selection stage.

To be eligible for FTII JET 2025, the applicants must have completed or be in the final year of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. As per the prescribed FTII JET 2025 eligibility criteria, for most PG Diploma courses, such as Direction & Screenplay Writing, Sound Recording & Design, Editing, Cinematography, and Screen Acting, a graduation in any discipline is accepted. However, some specializations like Art Direction & Production Design require a background in applied arts, painting, architecture, interior design, sculpture, or a related fine‐arts discipline. While there is no upper age limit, students must meet the minimum age of 21 years and must have obtained their qualifying degree before the date of admission or submit proof of final-year enrollment at the time of application. 

The Film and Television Institute of India has opened registrations for admission to its Master's Degree and PG Certificate Courses through FTII JET 2025. FTII is offering admissions in a total of 11 courses, divided into two groups - Group A and Group B.

Group A includes six courses under the Film Wing:

1. Three-Year MFA in Direction & Screenplay-Writing

2. Three-Year MFA in Cinematography

3. Three-Year MFA in Editing

4. Three-Year MFA in Sound Recording & Sound Design

5. Three-Year MFA in Art Direction & Production Design

6. Two-Year MFA in Screen Acting

Group B includes five courses under the Television Wing:

1. One-Year PG Certificate in Direction | Two-Year MFA in Screenwriting (Film, TV & Web Series)

2. One-Year PG Certificate in Electronic Cinematography

3. One-Year PG Certificate in Video Editing

4. One-Year PG Certificate in Sound Recording & TV Engineering

Students can apply for a maximum of two courses from serial numbers 1 to 4 (from either the Film or Television Wing). They can apply for only one course from serial numbers 5 and 6. Before applying for FTII JET entrance exam 2025, students must check which courses they’re eligible to apply for, based on the allowed combinations mentioned above. 

FTII JET 2025 Registration Fee

FTII JET 2025 exam will take place in two stages. In the first stage, all students who are applying for MFA in Cinema programs or the one-year PG Certificate courses need to appear for a written test. The exam pattern for FTII JET 2025 first stage has been given below:

Students who clear FTII JET written test will move on to the second stage of the selection process. This part involves a mixed-format assessment, where they will be evaluated through practical tasks, performance tests, analytical exercises, and interactive sessions.

FTII JET 2025 Admit Card will be available for download from July 20 to July 26, 2025. The admit card for FTII JET entrance exam 2025 is an important document for students aspiring to join the Film and Television Institute of India. This hall ticket serves as proof of registration and is mandatory for entry into the examination center. FTII JET 2025 admit card must be printed and carried to the examination center along with a valid photo ID proof, such as an Aadhaar card, passport, or voter ID. FTII JET 2025 will be conducted in 26 cities across the country. Candidates can choose any three cities for the exam while filling out the application form for FTII JET 2025. The final centre will be allotted to them on the basis of seat availability and the number of candidates appearing for the exam. FTII has released the schedule for the written test i.e., the stage 1 of FTII JET 2025 exam. The complete schedule for FTII JET 2025 exam is given below:

FTII JET entrance exam stage 2 will be conducted at the FTII Pune campus. Students are responsible for making their own arrangements for travel, accommodation, and meals during the Stage-2 assessment period.

For the FTII JET 25, a total of 11 merit lists will be published, corresponding to the 11 courses offered under Group A and Group B. Each course will have its own merit list that includes category-wise rank lists. FTII JET 2025 rank lists will display both selected and waitlisted students, arranged in order of merit within each category. Seat allocation will be made according to FTII JET merit lists 2025 of the respective courses.

FTII JET 2025 results will be announced in two stages. First, the results of the Stage 1 written test, which includes both objective and subjective papers, are declared. These results will inform test takers whether they have qualified for the next round of FTII JET selection process. After Stage 1 results, qualified students can participate in Stage 2 of FTII JET 2025 exam, which involves practical, analytical, performance, and interaction assessments. Once all assessments are completed, FTII JET 2025 final results will be announced, showing the students selected for admission into various courses at FTII.

FTII will conduct multiple counselling rounds at its Pune campus. The counselling process includes document verification and seat allocation. FTII JET 2025 seat allocation process will be conducted online through the Joint Seat Allocation or JSA system. Applicants must visit the official JSA portal using their FTII JET 2025 login credentials to register and fill in their choices for courses and institutes. They must fill and save at least one course choice to be considered for allocation. During FTII JET counselling 2025, when a seat is allocated, students have to accept the seat by completing "Online Reporting" and then pay a seat acceptance fee of Rs. 50,000. If a student does not wish to accept the allocated seat, they can reject it by simply not completing the steps for "Online Reporting." This will automatically cancel their seat.
