GPAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check GPAT 2020 eligibility criteria before applying for GPAT 2020. It is important to fulfill the eligibility criteria of GPAT 2020 before filling in the GPAT application form. The eligibility criteria include parameters such as age limit, educational qualifications, and nationality which have to be fulfilled. GPAT will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The main criteria is a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.

GPAT 2020 admit card will be issued only after the candidates have submitted their application form on time and fulfilled the eligibility criteria specified by NTA. The eligibility norms for appearing in GPAT 2019 is defined by NTA (National Testing Agency). Candidates should go through the norms before filling the online application form. Following is the GPAT 2020 eligibility criteria:


  • Candidate should be a citizen of India.

Age Criteria

  • There is no upper age limit for this examination.

Academic Qualification

  • Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, which means 4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry candidates.
  • Candidates in the final year of B. Pharmacy programme are also eligible to appear for GPAT
  • B. Tech in Pharmaceutical and fine chemical technology/any Equivalent examination candidates are not eligible to appear for GPAT examination.

GPAT Eligibility Criteria for Visually Challenged Candidates

Visually challenged candidates who opt for a reader have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • The reader’s academic qualifications should be lower than that of the candidate.

  • He/she cannot be a family member of the candidate.

  • The reader must not be involved in the academic preparation for GPAT 2020.

  • The reader’s age must be less than 19 as on January 17, 2020.

GPAT Eligibility Criteria for PwD Candidates

The PwD categories for GPAT as defined by NTA are given below:

  • Visually impaired
  • Physically handicapped
  • Hearing impaired
  • Dumb

PwD candidates are given testing assistance and it depends on what the candidate has specified in the application form.

Visually impaired will be offered screen/font enlargement. They are also offered abacus (without the calculator). Screen magnification will be done by the test center whereas abacus will have to be arranged by the candidate.

Visually impaired as well as candidates who have cerebral palsy will be allowed to have a reader. This has to be arranged by the candidate.

Hearing impaired candidates will be allowed to have hearing aids, which must be arranged by the candidate.
